Hi John, HTML5 is certainly the way of the future. Ronni may know of more examples but just to give you a few that I have heard of:
* Windows 8 will use HTML5 to bring apps to the Microsoft tablet format (http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/06/01/microsoft_demonstrates_windows_8_with_html5_apps.html) * Google now provides all youtube videos in both flash and HTML5 -- though I personally am a bit suspicious of Google who may pull the feature if they thought it would give them a competitive advantage over Apple (Google fights Flash, adds HTML5 support for YouTube videos in Safar)i * Adobe now has a tool to convert Flash to HTML5 (http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/03/flash-to-html5-conversion-tool-on-adobe-labs.html) Some other links from AppleInsider -- even the pornographers know that Flash is on its way out :-) Scribd "scrapping Flash and betting the company on HTML5" Head of Microsoft's Internet Explorer says HTML5 is the 'future' More than half of online videos are now in iOS-friendly HTML5 (H.264) Pornographers next to dump Flash for HTML5 Vimeo launches Flash-free Universal Player for iPhone, iPad Cheers, Carlo On 2011-06-09, at 07:27, John Thompson wrote: > > Hi Ronni, > Is there any progress in the arrival of HTML5 Video as a replacement > for Flash? > On 08/06/2011, at 11:38 AM, Ronda Brown wrote: > >> >> Hi Laura, >> >> On 08/06/2011, at 9:18 AM, Laura Webb wrote: >> >>> >>> Good morning all >>> >>> Two questions here. >>> >>> Firstly, is there any way around the lack of Flash on the iPad?
