Hi My wife has a MacBook 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 1.5 Ghz Ram running 10.6.8. I have an MacBookPro 2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo 1.5 Ghz Ram running 10.7.2 Rather frequently she will be unable to connect to the Internet even though her Wifi connection appears stable and she is pulling an IP from our router (Time Capsule). It comes and goes. Last night, during one of its failures, I set it up beside my machine and ran Network Diagnostics. I was green on Wifi, WiFi settings, Network settings, ISP, Internet and Server. She was green on Wifi, WiFi settings, Network settings. But Red on ISP, Internet and Server.
The current fix for this seems to be: turn airport off, connect using Ethernet cable. She gets all greens for her connection. Then turn on airport and remove ethernet cable. Things work fine for a few minutes or hours then things fail again. I rather suspect the airport card, but that doesn't really make sense in that her Wifi remains good - she just loses her connection to the ISP. As part of my experiments I had upgraded her from 10.5x to 10.6x over the weekend. No change in behavior. Any ideas? She is rather "wired" to her eMail.
