Ken, I don't know if this will help you. I have had the same problem occasionally when making slideshows.
This seems to occur if I have a large file, the system doesn't want to accept any more photos. What I have done is just start again, and the second time seems to work a bit better - when I do this I make the whole slideshow in one sitting though. (Obviously important to give the second slideshow a different name, and then to delete the first/incorrect slideshow when you have it all working).
