Oh well, my last email asking where it was stored was on the right track :) That would have led to the answer (which you've seen) of,..oh,..there's no room ;)
I'm in the middle of changing my iTunes library to a 12TB (9TB with 3TB redundancy) for the same reason. Finally get round to "making it work better", so can understand it on an external drive as being an issue. :) Glad you found the problem and solved it, that's the main thing.
