Hello Rosemary, Is this the same MacBook Pro that had Malware? Also when you had previous problems with Time Capsule - Time Machine backup. CrashPlan was the cause. CrashPlan must be 'Excluded from Time Machine backups'!
Repair the Hard Drive A). Reboot the Mac and hold down Command+R (option key on some Macs) B). Select “Recovery HD” from the boot menu C). Choose “Disk Utility” from the Mac OS X Utilities screen D). Click the hard drive, click the “First Aid” tab, and now click on “Repair Disk” After Repair Disk has run successfully, boot as normal.
