Hi Severin, You can’t get better than 1Password! We have talked about and recommended 1Password on WAMUG for years. A search for 1Password on WAMUG mailing list Archives you will see recommendations and info from myself, Peter Hinchliffe, Daniel and others.
1Password 6 is the Best Password Manager available. I’ve been using it since 1Password 3, 4, 5, & now current version 6.5.3 The below link gives you a lot of information about 1Password and syncing options with Dropbox, iCloud, WiFi, 1Password Teams, Families, and Individuals <http://thesweetsetup.com/apps/best-password-manager-and-why-you-need-one/> /Quote from above link: Why 1Password is the solution In looking for an app to help us manage this mess, we considered the following criteria: • Does the app make it easy to save login information as you’re browsing the web? • Can you easily search for and deploy this login information on the web? • Can you store other kinds of information, such as credit cards, personal info, secure notes, receipts, and more? • Does the app provide rich tools for sorting and organizing this information? • Are there secure ways of sharing this information with others? • Is the app beautifully designed with an easy to understand interface? • Is the app available across desktop and mobile platforms? • Does it help you keep up-to-date on your security, allowing you to quickly assess the strength of your passwords, generate stronger ones, and change them on a regular basis? • Does it use state-of-the art encryption standards, so in case someone gets ahold of your computer, all that sensitive information stored in your password manager is safe and secure? 1Password was the first password manager I ever heard about. I took the free trial back in 2008, purchased it soon after, and never looked back. But now, having looked at a number of competitors, and comparing them on these criteria, I can say that 1Password is still the most well-rounded password manager on the market. /End Quote Cheers, Ronni 13-inch MacBook Air (April 2014) 1.7GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost to 3.3GHz 8GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM 512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage macOS Sierra 10.12.2 > On 4 Jan 2017, at 9:13 am, Severin Crisp <[email protected]> wrote: > > Currently my passwords are a mess and rely on an often altered piece of paper > for when mnemonics or memory fail.
