Sorry Alan, you are correct. In your case the “fine print” applies. I was in between support emails and obviously didn’t fully read your first post. I went by the Subject: High Sierra Endless Loop Download as I’ve had a few clients & I think one WAMUG member with the problem and the restart with Option-Command-R into Recovery and install worked.
