No you're not missing any config. The FedOne server is a very, very
basic implementation of the wave idea. Originally it started out as a
way to demonstrate the Federation protocol in action however it is
slowly evolving into including other areas such as Agents and so on.

So right now yup, when FedOne dies, so does all the waves it hosts, and
yes there is no user management. However they are always happy to
receive patches :)
