I was also initially skeptical that moving to to Apache incubator would
bring tangible benefits. I'm convinced it's beneficial now, though,
basically because:

Technologically there's not much in it, and one could argue the move is
a distraction. But for building a community and knowing how to succeed with
an open source project, Apache is almost unrivaled. The community is
absolutely critical to the future development of Wave. It's been fantastic
to see the recent surge in interest around WIAB but I do believe that the
project will benefit significantly from being under Apache's wing while we
work towards a truly flexible, useable, and stable product.

I'm sure we'll be able to negotiate things like use of our own product for
collaboration among our community as we bake in the incubator. I'm confident
that the Apache folks are reasonable people who are on our side.
