Here, here! (something you say at meetings) My vote is one of the 15 and I
was surprised at the low response as well.

Down with the gold standard. Vote for Dogs, Dogs, Dogs.

Subject: What Happened When I Was Gone?

That's my question! I recently changed jobs and didn't have internet
access, so I "un-subscribed" to the Digest. Then, soon as I got settled in,
I re-subscribed only to hear all this arguing and fussing and confusion over
auto-mated vs. "the old way" and if that's not bad enough, accusing a
Mayberryite of "fixing" an election? Puleeze! See, I'm just happy to have
a little bit of Mayberry in my life, since TBS and WGN and my local FOX
station have all taken it off the air. I NEED my Mayberry. I recently
found out that my husband has a heart condition that's not correctable with
surgery, my mother has had a stroke, and my "baby" brother is laid off from
work as of December 10. I'm not complaining, now, because I'm in the Lord's
hands, but it's not easy to deal with stuff like this. Reading the digest
used to be the highlight of my day, but now it's sounding more and more like
the real world...complaint after complaint. Come on folks! Do we need to
get out the picture album and reminisce a little (re: Aunt Bee's trip to
Hawaii)? Little things aren't important. Big things are. And this big
thing (the Digest) is important to me. Thanks, Allan. I've never seen you
before or talked to you, but you're my friend, and I appreciate all the work
you do. Keep it up, and keep my family in your prayers.

Hey!
Did ya'll ever notice when Andy and Aunt Bee were sitting on the
front porch and heard music coming from somewhere, and Andy told Aunt
Bee that it was the Darlins and she thought he said Starlings and
told him that he was full of beans, that the music surely sounded
like it had a dobro in there. When Ange took the Darlings to the
jail house, I don't believe they carried a Dobro. Reckon Briscoe
could get Dobro sounds out of that jug too????

Here are a few news flashes in conjunction with Don Knotts' book publicity.
Don will be on both "Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee" and "Late Night with
Conan O'Brien" next Wednesday, November 17.

He'll also be signing copies of his book in New York City at Borders
Bookstore at 57th and Park Avenue on November 17 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Don also will be participating in the Book & Author Night at the National
Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, November 18 from 6:00 to 8:30
p.m. Admission is $3.00 for this one.

Bunches of other media things (including lots of radio and print stuff) are
in the works for Don, plus a West Coast booksigning a little later. (But
don't fret if you aren't near enough to get to one of the booksigning events
because our Weaver's Dept. Store online also has copies of the book with
special autographed bookplates.)

In the meantime, remember that Andy Griffith will be making debut appearance
on the Grand Ole Opry this Saturday, including during the televised portion
on TNN at 7:30 CT.

Jim
P.S. The initial, but still tentative date for the premiere of Don's
"Biography" on A&E is January 5.

I just want to tell all that please don't make me have to do that again. I
swear it is so hard for me to make my choice each time I have to vote. I
have a lot of episodes that are way up there in the list of my favorites and
every time it is so hard to choose between the ones. So, please everyone
keep it honest, because I don't want to have to make a choice between the
episodes again. I mean it is like having to choose one child over the
other. HA! HA!

Thanks and Happy Motoring

Subject: Mayberry items for sale

Please indulge me as, for this one time only, I use our fun forum to hawk a
few TAGS items I have for sale (I'm moving in two weeks, and I need to do
some housecleaning of collectibles!).

I have a total of 19 home-recorded videotapes of THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW
episodes, ranging in audio/video quality from Good to Excellent, with an
average of 12 episodes per tape (EP mode). There are a few duplicate
episodes, but these tapes contain the lion's share of TAGS episodes --
including most COLOR episodes AND four MAYBERRY R.F.D. episodes. Please
email me privately a [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you're interested in buying
this set. I'll sell them for a very reasonable price -- plus postage.

(I also have many tapes containing episodes of THE FLINTSTONES, THE TWILIGHT
ZONE, BRADY BUNCH, and other classic TV shows. Email me privately if
interested.)

Finally, I'm auctioning two TAGS items on eBay, the auctions ending on
11/16. If interested, visit the links below. Thanks!

I was only 4 when all you WW2 Vets were giving time, limbs and life for the
freedoms we take so FORGRANTED. However, I would like to thank you all for
the tremendous sacrifice you made for me. I was in NAM. And it was no picnic
by no stretch of the imagination. When I hear people laughing at the
"Stupidity" of those who were "dumb" enough to "risk" their lives for those
who ran to another country or burned their draft cards I say I didn't do it
for them. I did it for the great American Dream of freedom and the right to
be happy. For the families who can laugh and cry together and I
guess----even for those who don't give two hoots for the fighters of the
freedoms they enjoy. I salute you Veterans, you do not deserve the treatment
you get today for what you did yesterday!!!
