Our local news station ran a story about this a couple days ago, and they mentioned this new psa and showed a brief clip of Andy while filming it. - -- Marcia! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Nov 1999 09:47:06 -0800 (PST) From: Joel Rasmussen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Forty Acres Photos I wanted to say THANKS to everyone who's contacted me with kind comments about the TAGS Locations / Forty Acres / Fishin' Hole article in the November BULLET. I never realized there was so much interest! There really is a lot of the "REEL" Mayberry yet to be discovered! (Special thanks go to Jim for printing the article and Mike Creech for helping find the site.) In response to the many requests for large-size copies of the Forty Acres Aerial photo, I'm making them available at my mini-Mayberry website: http://www.angelfire.com/biz/Mayberry/index.html If anyone can add to the information about Forty Acres and the original TAGS shooting locations, we'd love to hear from you! Thanks and happy motoring, Joel Rasmussen ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Nov 1999 18:13:10 -0500 From: Randy Everette <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Opie's Scouting Trivia Answers Here're the answers to the scouting trivia questions (see the "Dinner At Eight" episode for visual confirmation): 1) What troop (number) is Opie in? ANS: Troop 44 2) What rank patch is Opie wearing? ANS: Tenderfoot 3) What uniform patch is "missing" from his uniform? ANS: The state patch that is suppossed to go under the city patch. In that era the troop's city patch was worn on the top of the left sleeve with a shorter state patch (abbreviated form) underneath it. The troop number was worn below the state patch. All three patches were white on red. My guess is this was a weak attempt by the producers to "hide" the state Mayberry was located in, attempting to give TAGS a more generalized/broader locale and appeal. Opie's city patch did say Mayberry, but the state patch is missing. These repeated attempts on the producer's part are weak and I feel the weight of the evidence is that Mayberry was indeed Mt Airy, NC. Anyone: correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, this is the first time this TAGS "error" (question 3, the missing state patch), has ever appreared in print or email. I've never seen it mentioned before. Are there any other WBMUTBB digest members who are Eagle Scouts? My 8-yr old son is a Cub Scout now. My 6-yr old daughter loves the Cub meetings too! Happy Holidays everyone! Be especially appreciative of those young children. They are indeed a gift from God. Simpson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Attn. Bernard Fox fans I haven't seen The Mummy yet so I didn't realize he was in it. A friend of mine did a web page dedicated to the movie. I was looking at it and was surprised to see a picture of Bernard Fox on it. It takes forever to load up because it is full of pictures but if anyone is interested it is here -- http://members.theglobe.com/Stezi/mummy.htm It's about 2/3 the way down. - -- Anita T. If there's room in your budget, please delay no longer and support these tapes, currently at 10 volumes (40 episodes). Treat yourself or a loved one for Christmas, or make a New Year's resolution to do it in 2000. The CH episodes are uncut, digitally transferred for maximum video and audio quality from newly struck 35mm prints in Paramount's library (not digitally enhanced, inferior 16mm prints like LaserLight's tapes; CH is digitally recorded), and many episodes are new to home video. Unlike copies from TV, you won't have to put up with a maddening station logo (TVLand and Nick at Nite's logos are approximately 1/16 of the screen size). Our goal should be to let Columbia House know that all 249 episodes deserve the red carpet treatment. Subscribe if you're financially able. Write thank you letters to Columbia House. Lobby your friends to subscribe. Let's show Columbia House what TAGS fans are made of! Lots a'luck to you and yours, Brent Seguine ------------------------------ End of wbmutbb-digest V1 #22 **************************** ************************************************** ~ Visit our sponsor ~ Weaver's Department Store ~ http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/ ************************************************** To remove yourself from the WBMUTBB Digest mailing list send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the following command in the body of your email message: unsubscribe wbmutbb-digest
