miss poovey,
gomer yells to barney to "go up an alley and holler fish". the five years on
the force is just a contridiction in the show, there are a few of them
including barneys middle name: bernard P. fife, bernard milton fife, and
bernard oliver fife ( i think)

I'm trying to get tapes of the *uncut* episodes 'Man in a Hurry' and 'Luck
of Newton Monroe.' I will gladly pay expenses (video tape, mailing). I love
the porch scenes where Barney tells Andy what he is going to do several
times until Andy finishes the sentence for him. Those scenes are abbreviated
in the copies that I have. Thanks.

For Christmas I got Don Knott's "Barney Fife and Other Characters I have
Known" and quickly consumed it. If you have not read this, you need to.
I'll guarantee you'll learn something new about our favorite deputy. It is
an interesting read, not so much a biography; rather, the story of his
career. As Floyd would say "Fascinating, just fascinating."

Johnny was all over the place in the episode where they're coming to town
to make the movie. Early on, he gets a solo shot as Andy walks by him as
he is changing the sign on his shop. He's also in several crowd shots then
is on the left end of the saw when Mayor Pike commands them to cut down the
old oak tree. Oh, that Johnny, he was versatile!

With all of the wonderful pictures on the web, and a variety of printing
programs available, most computer users could easily create their own
wrapping paper--at least for small packages (any copyright laws prohibiting
this?). But wouldn't it be grand if someone manufactured it? The one
frustration I had in visiting Mt. Airy last year was seeing all the
wonderful TAGS merchandise in one place and having a limited budget for
purchases. I'm grateful to Weaver's for making so much of it available on
the web so that I can "pace" my shopping throughout the year.

P.S. I am so enjoying TV Land's TAGS episodes, seeing those precious
epilogues, and knowing that I can visit Mayberry every single day.

Subject: TV Land Schedule

Has anyone else noticed - and if so maybe you can help me out - that the TV
Land schedule list an episode number... Well, I can see as though they match
up with the episode numbers I have... Tomorrow at midnight, they are showing
"Opie's Charity", one of my very favorites by the way... I have it as
episode #5 and they show it as episode #8... Does that mean the 8'th one
they've shown thus far? I remember some discussion quite a while back that
said some shows were not shown in the order they were made - originally.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this ... I sure am enjoying the
epilogues... I was 6 episodes short of having them all taped from WTBS and
WGN... Now looks like I'll be starting over so I can get the epilogues... I
have noticed though that there still seems to be some scenes cut out... Even
some different ones than WTBS and WGN had cut... However they do have scenes
that I have not seen for quite some time...

Here in the central time zone they are showing an episode at 6:00 P.M. -
then repeating the same show at 9:00 P.M. and then showing a different
episode at 12:00 midnight... Also, the 6:00 P.M. show does not show on
Saturday and Sunday...
Have a great week and Happy Taping!!!
Gary - in Searcy, AR

(ANSWER FROM ALLAN: The episodes of TAGS we not shown in the order in which
they were filmed. TV Land is listing the episodes in the order they were
originally broadcast...your listing is by the order in which they were
filmed.)

I just purchased an album by Andy Griffith titled "Just For Laughs". I
don't know when it was made, but it must have been sometime in the 50's. It
was put out by Capitol Records. If anyone knows the year it was made,
please let me know. Thank you.

My cable co. provides a little on-screen synopsis of shows. On TVLand for
TAGS they have "series about Andy Sawyer, acting mayor of a small town in
North Carolina". Where in the world did they get that?! I can't believe
there would be Anybody out there who doesn't know TAGS, even if they're not
regular watchers! Has anyone else seen this.

(ANSWER FROM ALLAN: That's from "The NEW Andy Griffith Show" which was a
series where Andy did play Andy Sawyer who was the acting Mayor of some small
town. I guess they just copy and pasted wrong.)

Just a note to all my fellow TAGS fans in the Denver area: UPN 20 is
showing TAGS every day 12:30 in the afternoon. They aren't uncut, but at
least it's Andy and, for those of us without cable, it's so much better
than anything else on TV.

To Whom This May Concern: Is there a place where I can find out an answer to
a question that I have that concerns the Andy Griffith Show? I want to know
about the 2 different Floyds at the barber shop.
>

I don't mind tellin' you, you've come to the right place!

The first "Floyd" was played by Walter Baldwin in just one episode,
"Stranger in Town." However, he wasn't what the producers were looking for
(he couldn't cut it), so in the next episode they replaced him with Howard
McNear, the REAL Floyd.

In the real Floyd Lawson's first episode, "Mayberry Goes Hollywood" the name
"Colby's Tonsorial Parlor" is painted on the barber shop window. For this
reason, some have deduced that the first Floyd was named Floyd Colby
(there's no evidence to support this theory). The name Colby on the window
remains a mystery.

I hate to disagree with you Paul but you're not completely right on this one.
In the case of the "decade" stamps, if "The Andy Griffith Show" had been
voted in, it would have received a stamp (I mentioned this in the WBMUTBB
over a year ago ). I'm trying to remember who it is that received one of the
decade stamps that is still alive, was it the Seinfeld Show? I know Star
Trek did but it just showed the Enterprise. I was thinking that Dick Van
Dyke got one for the 60's. Anyway, as I mentioned over a year ago, I was
talking with the postmaster here and was told that no matter what TV show
received the most votes, it would be on a stamp. I guess that we fans just
dropped the ball on this one.

like my 'Six Degrees of Andy on my website) Well, I just saw one where
they asked how Leif Garret connected to Don Knotts. The last step was
Barbara Eden who appeared on TAGS with Don Knotts. The actor says "She
did?" At that point Don Knotts pops up on screen and says "She sure did!
And she even kissed me!" A quick clip of the manicurist smooching Barney
is shown and the actors go "Wow, thanks Don Knotts!" and he answers "You
betcha!"
