To smhow there were 2 Floyds on the show,I believe in episode 10 "A Stranger
in town" where Barney was sitting in the barber chair and Floyd was cutting
his hair, and Andy walks in and tells Floyd to let him trim Barneys
sideburns. And when he's done he asks Floyd how that looks,Floyd looks at the
chair and says is he still there?(He couldn't see to well, with or without his
glasses)this first Floyd only played on one episode though.

Does anyone know the street address of the home that was used as the home of
the Taylors in TAGS? I'm pretty sure it's in Pomona, CA. Apparently Mark &
Brian (morning radio personalities) did a live show from the home years ago.
Ron
(ANSWER FROM ALLAN: No...the home that the Taylor's "lived" in was on the
backlot of the studio. It wasn't a real home where someone lived. If you look
closely in some scenes you can see "Main Street's" buildings from Andy's
front yard.)

I can't believe me eyes. I was reading the digest this morning and
saw my name on a post I didn't make. Then I looked up at the FROM line. It
seems there's TWO Jeff Howards in our little corner of the Internet. Man
that's weird. Hello Jeff Howard from Jeff Howard.

Clint Howard has made me a deal to obtain a small quantify of photographs
from TAGS that are signed by both Clint and Ron. It is a black and white of
the two of them in front of the courthouse. They are $50 each (plus $4
shipping) and will be on a first come first serve basis. E-mail me at

I just read Don Knott's autobiography. I noticed many times during the
book, he felt bad about himself for not getting parts or the "right"
parts, etc. How could Don Knott's ever feel bad about his career or
talent. Does he even have a clue--he is the greatest actor ever !!!!!!
I think he is way too humble. Have any of you met him, what do you
think.

Howdy all! I was watching my tape of "Barney's Physical" and heard a
line I don't understand. When Bee, Thelma Lou, Opie and Floyd surprise
Barney with his cake and watch, Barney remarks that he had no idea they
were planning a surprise party, and Floyd says. "Where were you monday?"
No answer from Barney and no laugh track.
WHAT DOES THAT LINE MEAN?
Karen "Five" Bice
(ANSWER FROM ALLAN: If you could see that episode without it being cut you'd
hear Floyd talking about Barney always coming in on Monday for a haircut but
that he didn't make it that week. Later Floyd asks, "Where were you Monday?"
and does his fingers like he's cutting hair.)

All this talk about wallpaper borders got me thinking I needed to share my
home decorating ideas. Hope no one is offended by this, but my bathroom is
decorated in Andy Griffith (when you live in a one-bedroom apartment, you
don't have much to choose from, trust me)! LOL
So in addition to some framed prints, I use actual police crime scene tape as
a wallpaper border (ok, you have to know real cops to get this, but it can be
done). At one point, I bought a clear shower curtain, made a cutout of a
badge to trace, and freehanded them all over the curtain, being sure to write
"Mayberry" inside each six-pointed star. I have a couple of those old
Hallmark Andy cards people have been talking about taped to a mirror. And
finally, I took some leftover trading cards and used clear wide tape to
attach them to a small garbage can.
Now this isn't gonna wind up on the Home & Garden Television network, but it
works fine for me! Anyone else have Andy decorating ideas??? ..... amy :)

I got a chance to view & tape Don Knott's " Biography " on A&E last night &
I must say what a " SUPER " job they did. It was a real tribute to Mr.
Knotts & really helps me to feel as if I know him better. I enjoyed the
comments made by Andy Griffith & Ron Howard, Don is very fortunate to have
friends like them. I also found his children to be just delightful and a
real pleasure to listen to. My hat's off to A&E for this "special "
tribute........Lotsa Luck to You & Yours..........Dave( " A Dollar and A

Hi folks...I loved the marathon, too! I'm also pickled tink that TAGS is
available on TV Land. The TV Land commercials sure beat the local/cable
commercials!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Andy Jig that we saw on the
marathon was from the colored episode where Opie to goes to his first school
dance. I saw that one not too long ago on one of our locals and couldn't
get over how tame the dancing was when you compare it to today's stuff.
Happy 2000 to all!

No. Does that answer your question? Actually, I've toyed with the same
idea and thought perhaps I could make a template for stenciling a border -
>>
I do alot of crafts and I don't know if this idea will help my neighbor out
or not but there is a product called "Picture This" that will transfer the
images of a photo onto fabric. If the wallpaper you were transferring to was
textured with some kind of fiber, then I would think you may be able to cut
the wallpaper in strips and try transferring the images onto the the
strip/border. One can find the product in crafts stores (ie Michaels) and it
isn't expensive. If I was interested in creating this border, I would
probably give it the ole Mayberry try!

Shazam! I sure am enjoying this list. So much so, that I woke up this
morning wondering about this:
In the epidsode where Andy's right hand is bandaged (he told Aunt Bee
he had "a tussle with some prisoners"), how did he really hurt his hand? I
heard that he got mad at something Don Knotts did, and threw his fist
into a wall. So, what's the real story?
Thanks, and I apologize if this question has already been asked.

No, Jeff, there was a different actor who played Floyd in one earlier
episode, he was an older gentleman, someone else will have to help you with
the name.
