I've downloaded Joey Fann's lesson plans and my pastor has given us
permission to move ahead with putting the classes together. My problem is
the tapes themselves. Joey advises me that there are some of the needed
episodes on some of the retail tapes, but only some. I am not a tape
collector (because I never watch anything I tape) so I have zip when it
comes to TAGS episodes. Anybody got any ideas of how I can get hold of the
episodes I need for the classes? Please respond to me individually at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I 'preshate it.

If anyone missed the Don Knott's Biography on A&E and you don't want to wait

You can also check out www.biography.com - I think this site has the picture

I concur. Peggy was always my favorite even though she had a slight
overbite. Peggy and Andy made beautiful music together but maybe they
couldn't marry because she and Opie were blood kin (blood brothers). Or....
maybe Peggy decided to marry her school mate, Don (couldn't you just hate
him?) I was fortunate to hear Peggy sing "Down in the Valley" at one of the
cast reunions. She was overwhelmed with the standing ovation she received
and she indeed had the voice of an angel.

Of all the stations that have broadcast TAGS reruns, WFMY channel 2 in
Greensboro, NC has done the best job in my opinion. They edit some, but not
as noticeable as others and they always show the epilogue. They have been
doing this for years. That is where I taped most of the shows, so I have
some excellent tapes. I have friends who watch them with me and say things
like, "hey, I don't have that part on my tape." Anybody relocating to the
middle of NC or visiting there, be sure to check out channel 2 at 5:50 PM
each weekday!

Here's a vote for the way TVLand shows Andy. The capper on the end
of the episodes is pure comic gold, and we've been missing them for years.
Seeing Andy mess with Barney and Thelma Lou as they prepared to smooch up a
storm Tuesday was a delight.
I hope to continue to see these closing scenes, since I haven't
seen some and others I haven't seen for a long time. They are just
hilarious. I especially look forward to the closing scene of the episode
where Barney and Andy arrest the escapee in the trailer park. I've seen it
once or twice and it's a classic.
PS: I agree with Laura Lee Hobbs. Peggy was the bomb. I don't know
why Andy couldn't have stuck with her. She was pretty, smart, funny and
very sexy. Of course, since I'm married to one, I'm partial to blondes.

Hi y'all, I was wondering if the favorite episode site was still up and
running. I have no idea where it was or came from. Evidently, I deleted
the site by accident from my folders. I shoulda used bigger wires I reckon!
I was hoping to copy the complete listing of the show's episodes for
future reference.

Thanks, Jim Rogers

(ANSWER FROM ALLAN: Well, I guess that means some of you folks never visit
the TAGSRWC web site? If you do, you'll find the "Favorite Episode Poll".
The "official" part of the poll ended on Dec 31st...that's the part THE
BULLET will use in rating the favorite episodes in a future issue...but the
poll is going to remain open for folks to be able to vote for their favorite
episode. The thing about our poll is that it'll only let you vote one time
every 90 days. Drop by and vote if you haven't. http://mayberry.com/tagsrwc/

Don't be surprised if Columbia House offers at the TAGS videos that they have

OK, you swave and beau-te-ful preserved people out there in Mayberry land,
E! Entertainment Network will be showing its "Andy of Mayberry"
show on February 6, 2000. It airs at 9:00 p.m. Eastern/Pacific time.
Now, like I warned you in the past, some of the shows on this network
have been rather gaudy and tasteless, and others not bad at all, so
I don't know how our beloved TAGS will come off. It's hard to believe
anyone can criticize the behind-the scene going-ons of this show, but I
just have to tell the ones who may not watch much of this cable network that
they are not necessarily a family oriented network, like
Disney. (Lydia and I watch it a lot! Life ain't all gold truck watching you
know!)

Your question. If not Helen, who was the best match for Andy? will live
on as the great debate among TAGS fans, particularly men.
I thought Ellie was a better match for him. My reasons, 1) she hit it
off well with Opie 2) Rather than the "bossy" as you called Helen's
approach...she let Andy make his own mistakes and then laughed with him
as he learned his lesson...but Peggy was the better cook which was
important in that era, of course Mary Simpson was fun, and Ellen the
Manucurist was the looker but...see what I mean I can even make up my
own mind. A question back at you..What Mayberry man was a better match
for Helen?...they once had a midnight discussion

Hey folks:

I happen to see Hal Smith on a rerun of the Dukes of Hazard last night while
Fall Creek Falls Tennessee and it was just great. His character had swindled
Boss Hogg out of $20,000.00 and then faked his own death so Boss wouldn't
come after him. Boss then decided to run a road through the cemetary and Hal
came back to get help because if the cemetary were dug up they would find his
coffin full of bricks. It was really neat to see Briscoe and Otis on the
same screen together. Two of the greates character actors who will ever live.

See ya!

In reply to Don Good's note in reference to TAGS falling to second place in
the
favorite t.v. series poll, even though it may not mean anything, you all had
better vote anyway especially when you see that (ready for this?) "I Dream of
Jeannie" is leading by a wide margin. Now come on, this actually can't be
serious
then. Who ever heard of an "I Dream of Jeannie" re-union, a "Return to I
Dream of
Jeannie" movie, or a fan club with over 1300 chapters world wide. Anyway,
just
wanted to speak my piece, since we ALL know which show is the greatest. Also,
have you seen that Frances Bavier is moving up in the favorite actress poll.
Come
on Aunt Bee. Lots of luck to you and yours. Hey Ope.

Just a note form a new resident. I couldn't resist
puttin' my two cents worth in on Andy's best choice
for a girl. Hands down Peggy McMillan. Not only was
Peggy, played by Joanna Moore, completely Va-Va-Voom
but she was a nurse and her dad was loaded.(Remember
the new car?) If you want further proof, freeze the
frame after Barney says "you know it's really kind of
ironical that Andy got that black eye, he didn't even
care anything about that girl. Anyway that's my two
cents. Thanks to all who run this site. We defy the

People really will do strange things and there are those that have no
respect for anyone or anything. My Mother and Brother are buried a few feet
from the grave of
"Pretty Boy" Floyd. His simple headstone bears his true name which was
Charley Arthur Floyd, his date of birth and death. He lies next to other
family members, including his brother who was the county sheriff for 25
years, and his sweet little Mama who lived to be 102. The Floyd family has
had to replace his headstone three times. Each time I go to the cemetary to
take flowers, I can't help but notice how many more pieces have been chipped
off the newest headstone which will soon need to be replaced. People break
off chunks of the marble, even the part that bears his name. This is a
pretty sick kind of souvineir to me, Behavior like that is beyond my
understanding. Just thought I'd add my two cents worth.
