I was going to guess that it was the actor that portrayed Glenn Cripes, but
then I saw the references to Buddy Ebsen and forgot about it. With Paul's
clue however, I'm going to guess him again.
>>
Right! According to the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) Delos Jewkes
(a.k.a. J. D. Jewkes) who played Glenn Cripe on The Andy Griffith Show,
provided the voice of one of the Munchkins. My last clue had a double
meaning, since in both cases, his voice took the place of someone else's
(first a Munchkin's, then years later, Barney Fife's).
>>>
This time you're wrong Paul. On the Wizard of OZ DVD, under the Buddy Ebsen
section of the bonus materials, it specifically says that both cuts of
"We're off to see the wizard", that was used in the movie, incorporated
Ebsen's voice. So give those answers correct credit, even though they're
not what you're looking for.

>>
Okay, I'll accept that. I haven't seen the DVD version, but I hope to
someday add it to my library. I love all that "behind the scenes" stuff
that many DVDs include.

I don't know if it's been posted before but...
I rented Ron Howard's movie "EdTV" where the lead character works in a
video store. There is a great shot of a hand putting two videos on
display... "The Love God" and "The Ghost & Mr Chicken"!
Atta boy Ronnie!!!

Subject: travel suggestions??
Hiya gang. I come to y'all for travel suggestions because we have
similar interests and tastes. But this isn't North Carolina travel I'm
talking about, it's the Las Vages to Flagstaff stretch of road,
especially anything on or near the old Route 66. My daughter and I are
flying into Vages this summer and driving to Boulder Dam and the Grand
Canyon. We want to stay in some old roadside motels en route -- you know
the kind: they date back to the 40's and 50's, and may be short on
amenities, but they're long on CHARACTER.
I figure that one or more of you may have been out there on vacation and
maybe you have a place you'd recommend. Please let me know. We figure
this may be our last big road trip for a while (planning to buy a house,
so we'll be vacationing at home for a few decades ...) and I want to
make it special. Please respond to me personally at [EMAIL PROTECTED],
unless you've got a recommendation that you think lots of people on the
list would like.
Muchas gracias, amigo!

Hey Goobalong:
Just for the record. I gave up my day job a long time ago and have been the
Mayberry Deputy full time since 1994. It is far more than a day job. It's
day, night, morning, early afternoon....you name it. People all over the ole
U S of A love TAGS and I get to bring a little to them regularly.
Take care.....

I just noticed in our TV Weekly that channel 64 in the Charlotte area is
running a mini TAGS marathon from 4-10 this evening! I was so discouraged
this morning. It just didn't feel like Super Bowl Sunday without a TAGS
marathon! Then I got a reprieve! Glory Be! Sabrina

I haven't been keeping up with the digest as I should, so you guys have
probably already discussed this, but why isn't TBS showing Andy all day on
Sunday? Well, they are, but it's MATLOCK! Who wants to watch a whole day
of
Matlock??! Is it because TVLand has Andy now? My local stations still show
TAGS. What gives here?
Not to start a big argument or anything, but I happen to enjoy Matlock, so I
am watching it at this minute.
And if those of us that watched the marathon of Matlock, you would realize
that TBS showed the shows that mostly had all TAGS alumni in it.
And Alan what happened to rule #2 in this situation.

try but, I ain't no writer. What does everyone think of this.

When I joined about a month ago I asked about the other repair man and
it stumped everybody, but, I finally saw the episode that confused me.
It was a fix it shop on the other side of the barbershop, it was a
fix-it-shop and funeral parlor, I've never seen this man except in this
one episode. Who is he, I didn't hear who he was but the episode was
when the Hollywood guys going to shoot some kind of movie of something
there. I really love TAGS but it seems that everytime I get busy and
have something to do I'll catch the tail end of something I want to
know.

Hey, all you beautiful preserved people of Mayberry. This doesn't have
a lot to do with TAGS, but as a Christian, I saw this little quote on
faith and it meant a lot to me and I wanted to share it with you. I don't
know who wrote it, but I hope you all enjoy it.
"When you come to the end of all the light you know,
and you are about to step off into the darkness,
Faith is knowing that one of two things will happen...
There will be something solid to stand on, or
You will learn to fly."
I really enjoy picturing me at that dark moment, hearing the Lord call
out my name, and then feeling me start to soar!

Debbie,
Please do not send messages about religion to the Digest. I, too, am a
Christian but we have to be extremely careful about how and when we speak
about our faith to the non-Christian members of WBMUTBB. I've had several
people in the past quit because of things like this.
Your message went through because I am not moderating the Digest right now.
This message will also be on the Digest for all to see.
For everyone else reading this message, we have had other messages in the
last few days that had NOTHING to do with TAGS. PLEASE refrain from this. We
need to keep our mailing list on TOPIC which is talking about The Andy
Griffith Show and related issues.
There is a WBMUTBB Prayers & Praises mailing list for those members who would
like to be a part of that type activity. To join it, just email me at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and let me know you want to be a part of it.
Thank you to everybody and I hope everyone understands the WBMUTBB position
on staying on Topic.
