Better be careful - old Mayor Pike might just bust a gusset if he has to hear any of his family members sing at a public occasion again. I like our "fat little mayor" also, he has much more personality than Mayor Stoner. I'll bet HE would have given the bed jacket back to Andy without nabbing Eagle Eye Annie as a payment. Jeff Krentz "...Stoner, Roy Stoner ... S - T - O - N - E- R, Stoner" ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Feb 2000 09:54:00 EST From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Mayberry Days I agree with Allan (as usual) regarding the purpose of Mayberry Days. It is so wonderful to be able to go to Mt. Airy and casually stroll around town and interact with other fans. The townspeople are so pleasant and accommodating. The planned activities are perfect for the setting. If there were a lot of "stars" there, it would be more chaotic with everyone trying to get autographs, etc. and it kind of takes away from the peacefulness. When David Browning is around town, he's in his Barney character and makes everything so realistic. Ernest T. is fun too. He brings his gas can and sings in the street - haven't seen him throw any rocks however. And of course, Allan - dear Allan - what would be do without him hanging around the barber shop in his white barber shirt - ready to snip-snip if the occasion arises. Has anyone ever let OUR Floyd cut your hair? I haven't been able to attend Mayberry Days in several years but this year - ah THIS year - I'm saving my pop bottles to sell for gas ($1.43/gal in Dallas). I think I can get 3 cents a piece for them. I love watching her play the intro to good 'ol 14A and I always laugh at her when he puts her hand over her mouth when Barney finds the house where they are practicing and rings the door bell. Simple gesture - yes - but it's so effective. I wish she'd had a speaking park - I'll bet I know just how she'd sound. I didn't say I disliked Roy Stoner, just that I liked the elected official with the lower center of gravity a bit better. =20 Anyone else recall that Mayor Pike was last seen in the company of Ellen the beautiful manicurist, shortly before she left town? Hmmmm, going back to Pierre, indeed. Saying you like some thing or someone better than another thing or person is different than saying you don't like something. For instance, I like ice cream better than cake SURE don't mean I don't like cake. ha ha..
