Seriously doubting that this is a scientific measurement, I deduced that snoot refers to snout or nose and full means full. So, if someone has a snootfull would that mean that they were full up to their nose or that their nose was full? Dave asks Andy why he won't let Opie make up his own mind & Andy responds something to the effect of " A young'un will grab at the first shiny thing he sees, & by the time he finds there's a hook in it, its' too late." Something along those lines. Any way, the point is, isn't that so true? How many parents today have abdicated their responsibility to guide. I always think of that when dealing with my own young'uns. They said "there's who we oughta' be askin' " and the cameraman behind them said "yeah!" I was so proud!!! Aunt Bee of Orlando P.S. I think it was actually the metal sign that says Fife Security Agency but they moved so fast you only got to see it briefly and maybe lots of folks wouldn't have understood what they were talking about but we Mayberry-ites sure did!
