Subject: TV Land Voting
I went to the TV Land website to vote for my favorite episodes & I found
a large
block of them missing. If memory serves, the listing jumps from around
160 to
200. I wanted to vote for the Count Isvon Telecki episode, but it
wasn't there.
Did anyone else experience this? How can we remedy this? Are these
episodes
available? Hey to you & yours.
Big Maude

I was watching the Gomer Pyle episodes this weekend and saw Mrs. Mendlebright
plying Gomer's aunt (believe it or not she was a blonde and looked a lot
younger in this episode) but I recognized the voice right off. She had a
cure for Sgt. Carter's getting his voice back. Anyone else see her? Vicky

It was my understanding that TAGS would be featured on Inside TV Land on
March 21st just prior to the big weekend of TAGS on TV Land, and that
Inside TV Land tonight( the 14th) belongs to the Honeymooners just prior
to there weekend........Lotsa Luck to You and Yours.........Dave.

Saw one of the "fun girls" on an episode of Gomer Pyle USMC on TVLand
this past weekend. She was playing a waitress, Sgt. Carter was trying
to find out if she was the one who was sending him love letters. The
TAGS episode with the "fun girls" was just on again yesterday evening
here in Middle Georgia. "Oh, Bernie, you're so funny!!!" Suzanne

Last night on Fun Girls, did you see Johnny cuttin' a rug right behind
Barney and Thelma Lou? Act, dance, is there anything that man can't do? I
heard he tried out for the choir once. Rafe Hollister beat him out. But
you know how that John Masters is. (Did you ever hear about him and Myra
Koontz?)

Subject: Speedy Mr. Schwump
On the Fun Girls, Andy greets Mr. Schwump from the dance floor while Mr.
Schwump stands there with that famous Schwumpian grin on his face. The
very next shot is back at the table with Gomer and Goober. In the
background, we see Mr. Schump sitting down at his table. One of 3 things
has happened. A shot has been edited out, this is one of the little
continuity problems we all love to find, or Mr. Schwump is pure greased
lightning.

Actually, the special for tonight is about "The Honeymooners." But I'm sure
they'll do TAGS sooner or later.

A colleague and I have been asked to present at our church retreat for women.
I know that episodes from Mayberry have served as an inspiration for many
women. We would like to choose two episodes from which to generate
discussion about the women of Mayberry and to relate the good moral
character and ethics of these women. Has anyone used these episodes
to teach moral and christian living. Please send your information
to my e-mail address "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" if you choose not to send to
the entire membership. Thanks in advance for suggestions and ideas.

Subject: Andy Griffith in Mad Magazine
I was going through some old issues of Mad magazine and discovered that in
the early days of it's publication there were many guest appearances by
famous comedians of the day, such as Ernie Kovaks, Bob and Ray, Danny Kaye,
Sid Ceasar and such. The July 1958 issue featured Andy Griffith and his
"What it was, was football" routine. Does anyone have any idea what this
issue might be worth to a collector? Not that I would sell it, just curious.
Thanks!!

Laura Lee Hobbs et. al, Laura Lee and many others may have noticed this
while watching for that famous gold truck, but I noticed it for the first
time this weekend when I spent the night with my sister. We were watching a
video tape of the gold truck episode. Rance Howard and another man enter
the courthouse not wearing hats. Next shot when Opie enters 2 men (it
appears 2 different men) are seen sitting wearing hats. The next shot no
hats. Is this 2 different men? It looked like it to me and my sister. I'm
sure others have noticed the hats on hats off thing before. I am sure Laura
Lee that Gold truck watcher noticed it., but it was my first time. Well hats
off to you all. Love, Maria PS Brian, Matthew & Shannon say hey.
