"If you missed INSIDE TV LAND-THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW, you missed a good one.
Spectacular."

This special was way overdue. How could I have learned so much? How
refreshing to see the group in a new light. One the best things was the
highlight on Mayberry Days. What an uncanny resemblence the kid has to Ronny
Howard! This is scary. Just goes to show ya, sometimes they do not break
the mold.

|Last night's special was wonderful. I cried when they wanted to cry, and
laughed
when they all laughed. It was a surprise to learn that aunt Bee Did not have
a great relationship with Andy. Here is what really almost broke my heart: those
hard working, wonderful actors did not and still do not (please correct me
if this has changed) get paid for residuals/reruns. When I think that some
of today's "actors" on hot-shot shows get almost MILLION$ per episode, and who
knows HOW much for reruns, I want to cry! Some of today's series actors aren't
worthy to untie Barney's shoes! There, I said it! You know, something ought
to be done about the fact that the TAGS actors, or their survivors, do not get
any payment for the TAGS reruns! Years ago, when Lucy and Desi passed away,
people began to make loads of money off reruns and sales of any thing from
lunchboxes
to coffee mugs. There seemed to be no way for the monies to be paid to the
survivors, especially Luci Arnaz and her brother Desi, Jr. I do not know who
or how, but things turned around and now I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show, etc. stuff
sold has to be "licensed" so that the families can reap the rewards of the
talents
and sacrifices of the wonderful cast of I Love Lucy. Now, I am NOT,
repeat...Not
saying that everything that reflects or even smells like Mayberry, or anything
connected...has to pay loads of money to certain people or you are thrown in
jail, so to speak. (That would make reunions and "Mayberry days" too expensive
to have and enjoy.) I AM saying that it would be VERY nice to know that every
time a TAGS rerun is shown, Andy, Barney, Thelma Lou, Gomer, Goober, Aunt Bee,
Floyd, Opie, and Miss Crump. Ernest T and all the other wonderful actors and
actresses...every one still living or their families would get paid a little;
IT ONLY SEEMS FAIR. You know.....TO SHOW RESPECT. "HELLO", from Branson.|

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post about the TVLand cuts. I know,
we can't have it all! :-) But the epilogues are great to see. I saw the one
yesterday where Ernest T wanted to marry Charlene and then wanted to dance
with "the lady sheriff" in the epilogue. :-)

What a GREAT JOB TV Land did with the program last night: Inside TAGS.
It was fun, down to earth, honest and informative. Many people helped to
make it that way I know. It was great to see Jim Clark from TAGSRWC on
the special since he is our founder and head Goober. The info on Frances
Bavier was interesting and I thought quite touching. Howard Morris( our
own " Ernest T ") looked good, and how great that Harvey Bullock got to
be on as well, what a tribute to his work. If you didn't see it, it
will air again, you should tape it and add it to your TAGS
collection..............Dave & Pattie( A Dollar and a Quarter Chapter,
New Phila, Ohio).......(Pattie saw herself in the crowd when the
Mayberry Days parade clip was shown).

What's all the moulage about getting one's name on a box?
I don't know the exact quote by Barney, but it's something like "I don't
need any kind of recognition, just doing a good job is thanks enough". Why
not a general recognition like "Contributions by fans of The Andy Griffith
Show"? Has everyone forgotten the graciousness of anonymity? Just seeing
my question contributed is thanks enough for me. Who's really going to care
if your name appears on a box? God, family, and friends are going to know
and that's the important part. Too many people nowadays have a hidden
agenda when they are asked to make any kind of contribution. If they ask
you if you want any kind of compensation, just ask for a copy of the game.
That way, you'll be compensated. After all how much is one or a few
questions worth to you? Just my two cents worth, you can either spend it or
keep it.

I am in favor of the "different" cuts in order to get the
epilogues, etc., but I truly missed Barney's explanation of the
bird language "Here comes a cat!" and so on. Classic Barney and
usually good for busting a gusset or two on me.

Subject: Buying stuff on ebay

Just a reminder to be VERY AWARE of what your are bidding on when dealing
with ebay..... There is a guy here at work who bid and won to buy the entire
James Bond series. The picture on ebay was of the original boxes. His bid
of $250 seemed reasonable and he sent the guy a check. In about a week he
received his box of tapes here at the office and just about had a heart
attack when he opened it. The guy had taped the movies using the standard 2
hour tapes with the setting at 6 hours, putting 3 movies on each tape. They
were not originals as advertised. First he tried to contact the guy and got
no where. Turns out the guy is an 18 year old trying to make big bucks! He
reported the guy to ebay, MGM and the post master general. MGM replaced all
of the tapes with originals in original boxes. Ebay has banned the guy from
ever selling anything again on ebay. The post master general has involved
the FBI and MGM's lawyers have sent the guy a letter warning him of this
being totally against the law. SO LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!

Harriet, the chicken theif but no scam artist.

TVLand is going to broadcast the pilot episode for TAGS, which
was an episode from the Danny Thomas series Make Room For Daddy, on
Thursday night, March 23rd at 10:00 pm or 10:30 pm-I've seen both times,
and haven't been able to visit the TVLand web site for verification.
It's posted over at the Bulletin Board, but I wanted to make sure that
everyone else heard. Have a wonderful Marathon Weekend, everybody!

Howdy, all!

As most of you probably know, TV Land will be having an Andy Griffith Show
marathon this weekend (Saturday and Sunday). I also know that they will be
running the episode of The Danny Thomas Show that served as the pilot for
TAGS, "Danny Meets Andy Griffith."

Can any of you find out the exact schedule of what episodes will be on when
during this marathon? I don't get TV Land, but my brother does and I'd like
to tell him what episodes to tape for me.

Thanks!

Subject: credit for trivia games

Hi folks:

The game company is more than willing to make an acknowledgment of trivia
contributions for the game. This would occur in the Rules of Play manual
that comes with the game. This issue remains that listing every single name
would be unlikely unless it is a small number, say 10 people. Otherwise it
might be in our best interest to go on records the WBMUTBB chapter as the
contributors. Again it really depends on the number of people that
participate. That remains to be seen. They are a very honorable group of
people and I trust they will come thru in that regard. Feedback???????????

I know alot of you folks out there are without TV Land. And if none of
your local channels carry TAGS then this means you are probably going
through Andy withdrawal! Those of you who are also members to the
"tagslist" know that I am sympathetic...I am always sending nice little
photo attachments for ya'll to enjoy. Well, here is something for the
members of WBMUTBB who are being denied their right to Mayberry. It's
just my way of showing that I, the groovy MissPoovey, feel your pain! Go
