Hi all,
In my last e-mail, I wrote:
"And what a great, cryptic line Mr. Bullock provided for Roger - "I may have
my hands in those petunias yet!" as he goes in to propose to Aunt Bee."
It dawned on me later how that might sound to those who aren't familiar with
the episode. Just for the record, Roger had been attempting to interfere
with Andy's petunia potting, when a fed-up Andy rebuffed him. Now, doesn't
that line make much more sense?

Unfortunately, my electricity went out on Thursday evening 10 minutes before
the Danny Thomas episode and didn't come back on for a full hour, so I
missed the pre-pilot. However, I have seen it once before and, if memory
serves me, I may have an observation.
Wasn't there a character (Francis Bavier, maybe) who played a widow who had
her husband buried in a rented suit and was making monthly payments? Please
let me know if I'm right or not here. If I am right, I have an interesting
tidbit for everyone.

Well, I am originally from Granite City, Illinois, and have lived in Arkansas

We live in Glen Allen, Virginia, a "burb" of Richmond, VA. We knew it was a
perfect place to live when we saw an old smokestack with "Darling" painted on
the side in huge letters. After you pass the smokestack and cross the
Robert E. Lee Natural Bridge you are at our place - Check Point Chickie. We
met some wonderful people at a craft show here many years ago - Mike and Kim
Johnson, who have now come to be good friends. Mike does fantastic pen and
ink work and has a Mayberry Collection. We went to the show to see his work
and ended up making some great friends. We learned of TAGSRWC through Mike
and Kim. We have been to Mayberry Days with them and to one of their chapter
meetings (The Barney Chapter). We wish we lived closer to Mike and Kim so we
could belong to their chapter. We have been unable to find a chapter here in
Richmond. We feel fortunate to have met several cast members as well as
David Browning and other character impersonators at Mayberry Days. We visit!
Mayberry as often as we can on TV and always in our hearts.

I'm a 20 year old college junior in Nashville TN. I'm watching the
Fandamonean weekend. I grew up on Andy Griffith! If I had an ear ache, a
bad dream, or was sick and couldn't sleep... we'd watch Andy Griffith that
we'd taped off TV. Every Sunday, at during lunch, at my Granny's and every
chance I got during the week,... I'd watch Andy. I didn't watch a lot of TV
as a kid, because I was always involved in Sports, and my music, but when I
did, Andy was one of my favorites. I hope to take my parents to Mayberry
Days next year. My mom's always wanted to go. I think we own every tape
that has ever graced the shelves of Walmart. We're probably the only family
that has ever been "addicted" to Andy Griffith. My roommates laugh, b/c I
watch the whole 10:00 hour, and even stay up for the 12:00/12:30 show as
well. POINT IS... I LOVE THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW. They sometimes put in the
Christmas show when we have close friends over and laugh at me, b/c I know
every single line !

times a day where we live. We just had a baby girl in January and can not

Being from NC, many people joke that I am from Mayberry. I could only be so
lucky. During my first teaching job, just 5 years ago, I was impressed when
the Guidance Counselor used TAGS to teach lessons to my 3rd graders. I have
to thank my Mom and brother for showing me TAGS when I was young. My
brother, who teaches in Mexico now, said the sweetest sound he heard while
there was the theme song to TAGS while in a shop. He stayed there to watch
the entire show.

allowed to watch since Daddy was a very strick Baptist preacher. My kids (21
