Just to let everyone who has a DVD player that there will be a TAGS DVD box set
issued on the Madacy label on April 4th. It will retail for $49 but most
online stores will be selling it for around $35. Don't know which episodes
will be on it but the total running time is 300 minutes!

I enjoyed the TVLAND TAGS MARATHON. I recorded the entire thing. But I
must say, i was disappointed that only a handful of color episodes were
shown. You mean the only color episode with Ernest T Bass didn't make
the list???
But more importantly does this mean that eventually TVLAND will
be showing all the color episodes?? i have about 65% of the color
episodes on tape, and look forward to getting the few i need
Also i need about 8 episodes of MAYBERRY RFD, if anyone would like to
trade or sell.
I love when andy tells ernest t, he's not no account...he's just
'ignorant'

Hey Paul!
Hmmmm, the question said that they "noticed" rather than "heard"
the name. Could it have possibly been written on the contract
that Opie and Andy signed? I don't know if we'll get you out of
that Hoot-Owl pie challenge or not, just guessing here.

What a great way to come off a great TAGS week-end...welcoming all our
new TAGS neighbors! I want to send a personal welcome to Bradley Scott
and Teresa Boyes as I feel us West Virginian hillbillies should stick
together. I've been long re-located to the Sunshine State but as they
say, you can take the gal out of the hills, but you can't take the hills
out of the gal!
Then, I want to send a special "Howdy!" to all the new Florida crackers;
Kellye Lee, Mike Coffman, Darlene Brown, Charles Hoefs, Mary Huckaby,
and Dan Lunsford. MissPoovey has her roots sunk into Orlando, so when
you're in the area drop in and say hey!
A hearty "Hey!" to all you other newbies; I would be honored if you
dropped in on my Mayberry homepage...go there this-a-way ~>

Boy, it sure is nice to see more Floridians getting into the act here on
WBMUTBB. If y'all are just now getting into TAGS here on line, be sure and
check out Allan's desktop theme he has on TAGSRWC, and then come on over to
our site, Them Timers are Tricky, and get you some of them great wavs to use
on your computer, instead of the yucky sounds they normally make. LOL We
now have over 800 wavs on file for your enjoyment, and if we don't have it,
we'll make it for ya. Be sure to stop by and see us after you check out
TAGSRWC, and say hey to us.

Sure hope I am sending this to the right address, if not send it to me and
I'll have it tattooed my head, I still wonder if there is any body out
there who loved the Miracle Salve episode as much as I. The looks on their
faces when they change there voice is with out a doubt the funniest thing I
have ever seen. ( Shows I don't get out a lot). I hear so much about
Barney's car which was hilarious, but some how the Miracle Salve episode is
coming on strong. Please write me and let me know if there are anymore Dr.
Pendyke fans out there. Thanks again Jimbo 'Molly Harkins" Seay

- --Paul
I never said it was mentioned but I did notice at the bottom of the paper
that Andy and Opie signed, with invisible ink, a name out to the left hand
side that appeared to be Andelina _ _ _ _ . I wont tell just yet what I saw
so others can get in on this too. Unless my eyes were playing tricks on me it
was her first and middle name! You may have to get the Mayberry Cookbook
out........LOL

Subject: andelina's middle name
|Just played the video of this last weekend's A-thon and watched the episode
where Opie was to be betrothed to Andelina. Watched it clear through, but did
not hear Andelina's middle name mentioned. I did hear a girl's name with a
middle name mentioned; she got her eyes on Barney to try and get hitched.
Barney
would have been part owner of a prune-pitting-factory-business, have use of
a company car, etc. He mentioned her name, and three came rolling off his
tongue.
Was there another episode where Andelina's name was mentioned? Also, did any
body notice that at the beginning of the story, in the ORIGINAL 1960's episode
Andy talks to Opie about his disappearing ink(early in the show). Later in THIS
episode last weekend they pull out the disappearing ink to sign the betrothal
papers, knowing the ink will disappear, but this week's episode had no earlier
explanations about that ink. It kind of seemed choppy this past A-thon, with
that part missing. Somebody else's memory remember the original version or am
I feeling the effects of too much "a-thon"?

| Concerning Andelina having a middle name....wow, I never thought to try and
read that paper on the table they were signing. It was kinda fuzzy on my tape.
I had used a bunch of inexpensive videotape blanks costing less than a dollar
each. Now, if her whole name is on that paper, and since they were making a
"legal and proper" betrothal, perhaps, just perhaps, that read:
Andelina Wash Taylor, or simply Andelina Darling Taylor. I thought of that
being one answer; her maiden name being on the paper as her middle name. That
is what I did when I married; I used my maiden as my legal middle.

Hi Bill! Cathy S. a.k.a. Skippy here. The Pickle Story is my all time
favorite Andy episode. I noticed the pickling jars a long time ago. I've
never commented on it but often wondered about it myself. I love the part
where Barney asked the guy where he's headed. Portland, Oregon. And Barney
says Don't stop for anything along the way. Did you ever notice the look on
the guy's face? Like he's going to be able to drive from Mayberry to Oregon
without stopping for ANYTHING. Do you have a favorite episode? Lots of Luck
to you and yours. 10-40 over and under 10-40 over and out. Cathy

Subject: Mayberry
Many people, at various times, have said they would like to live in Mayberry.
I live in Mayberry every day! You see, Mayberry is a state of mind, not a
physical place. Mayberry never really existed except in the minds of those
in it and those who watched it. That is how Barney could be so bad in The
Choir and so good in the Song Festers! That is how Mrs. Poultice could also
be Maude. That is how Paladin from radio days could wind up selling
"medicine" and "Chester" from Gunsmoke radio days could wind up cutting hair!
So in your mind, live in Mayberry! If things are going wrong, take a lesson
from TAGS and don't get in too big a hurry. Learn to "set a spell" and talk
with a friend or neighbor.
A lot of the problems we have today are because of our state of mind, the
attitude with which we approach problems. Look at every problem as Goober or
Gomer or Andy or Barney or Aunt Bea would, but not as Otis would!!
Welcome to Mayberry! What state is it in? The State of Mind!

Yes, Frances Bavier did play a widow in the pilot episode. Andy brought her
in because she hadn't paid her taxes. The reason she hadn't paid them is
she wanted her husband to look nice at the funeral parlor so she rented him
a nice suit. The funeral director forgot to remove it and they buried him
in it! Therefore, she was paying daily rent on it.
