Not everybody lost their rights to show TAGS. TV Land has the NATIONAL cable
rights. That means no other nation wide cable channel can show TAGS. Local
stations still have the right to show TAGS in their viewing areas.

Hate to hear that TBS gave up the rights to TAGS but sure am glad to hear
TVLand had the good sense to pick it up. I read or heard somewhere that
Ted Turner was a big TAGS fan and when they ran the show it was number 1 in
its time slot.

We have a local station that carries it but I have Direct TV and do not pick
up local stations. Maybe I could hook into old man Kelsey's antennae and get
it.

Hold on now. I don't prohibit selling stuff. I just don't encourage it. Ha
ha.....We don't want the WBMUTBB Digest turning in to a swap meet but if any
of you folks have something you'd like to give other TAGS fans a shot at
before you sell it somewheres else...feel free to do so. I don't want our
members missing out on anything.

Hello,
I recently subscribed to the Bullet but would like to get some information
on the Mayberry Days 2000. Do you have to buy tickets (and or) attend events
to enjoy ...can you still see stars if you don't attend ticketed events...?
Can anyone give me a detailed description of how these 3 days can be
enjoyed...is it like a citywide 24 hr a day celebration ? I would love to
attend but would be a SERIOUS commitment and would have a difficult time
taking off work. I just have no idea how 3 days will and can be spent.I have
looked at the Bullet showing all the events..golf..bowling
tournaments.dinner..talent time..all require tickets which is fine but don't
know how to plan ....
Any and all information would be great, pictures from previous visits are
welcome also..
Also I would like to know how to contact the Chapter "the Tail-Gunners" out
of Indianapolis if anyone know how....
Thanks
Gotta go snack on some mazerella pizza and read my True Blue Detective
magazine..

NOTE FROM ALLAN:
Cheryl, there are reports and photos from past Mayberry Days on the TAGSRWC
web site. Those might help you get a feel for what happens and where you
might want to be during the weekend. Go to the TAGSRWC site and then to the
"What's New" link. There you'll find a link to "Mount Airy, NC". Follow the
links and you'll find all kinds of information on Mayberry Days.

Subject: Depakote

Since Big Maude (also known as Ralph Henderson) wasn't the only one to ask,
I thought I'd reply via the Digest, what is Depakote? Depakote is
an anti-seizure drug I take and it can cause a variety of side-effects (we
do not know if it caused the hallucination. That occurs when a seizure
happens near the optic center of your brain--something that has happened
twice to me.) You have to have your blood tested every few months when you
take Depakote or any seizure med 'cause they can go toxic in your system
real fast. (Toxic simply means it starts attacking the liver.) I'm back on
Depakote, but in a smaller amount. I also take Topamax and am coming off
Neurontin. (They are all anti-seizure meds, too.)
I've been on it since 1997, and in January my blood level was 82, perfectly
normal, but come March it was well over 200--dangerously high.
Also, there are several members of the Digest who also have seizures, and
I never knew of them until I wrote about my health problems. I know the
Digest isn't the place to talk about health issues, but I got a lot of
emails on Depakote and what toxic means, etc, and hope this answers most of
them.
Also, many thanks to all the letters I received thanking me about what I
wrote about Gomer and the Mary Grace episode. I think that episode touched a
lot of people, and I just want to say I read every email and
appreciate each and every one of them. You people mean the world to me.

Does anyone know if Jack Prince has any recordings other than the Andy
Griffith Show "Rafe Hollister Sings" and the show tune "Destry Rides Again"?
I was fortunate to hear him sing a few years back at the Mayberry reunion in
Opryland where his voice was still as powerful as ever. So, that's just
made me curious as to whether or not he did any formal recordings. As
always, thanks.

OK, I'm back with more observations. I just watched (yesterday) the
episode with Mary the county nurse, Rafe, and the rest, and I NEVER
noticed 2 things (I've seen this episode a million times).
First, when Barney was showing him his hands were "like steel" I NEVER
noticed the hand-waving, snake imitation Barney was showing Andy before
he ponded his hand on the railing (has this clip been left out of this
episode on occasion?) and 2nd, I NEVER remember (course that and a
dollar wouldn't buy Ernie Gilley's car), Mary RUBBING ANDY's NECK in th
squad car before getting out up at Rafe's. Am I
imagining things, or are both these clips little excerpts left out
occasionally.

Maybe you'd like to go to Morellis and try the deluxe special
"Pounded Steak, A la Morelli"? It's really pounded too, you can
watch them do it. It comes with minestrone and you can hold it
down to $1.85 each if you don't get the shrimp cocktail. (Barney
didn't - he didn't want to fill up)

Subject: NEWS!!!!! WBMUTBB T-shirts, Sweatshirts and Mouse Pads!!!

GOOD NEWS FOLKS,

The new design for the back of the shirts is a go!!! Jan, bless her heart,
did all the leg work to find out on this for us but we'll be having the new
design on the back of the tees and sweats as well as on the new mouse
pads!!!! The design is simular to the one we've had in the past but MUCH
better.

WBMUTBB members Dennis & Tammie Atkins did the design and color seperation
for us and it is WONDERFUL!! Thank you to the Atkins'!!

If you haven't seen it yet, go to the order page and check it out. While
you're there, go ahead and place an order if'n you want one.

 http://members.aol.com/anewsome/private/wbmutbbtshirt.htm

MOUSEPADS

I'm going to go ahead and put the mouse pads on the order form as well. The
mouse pad will be $10. That's up a dollar from last time. Sorry about that
but I'm figuring on being stuck with several mouse pads. (I have to order 150
of 'em and last time we only ordered 50 and I ended up we several of those
for a LONG time.) The $10 does include the shipping just like the prices on
the shirts.

If any of you who've already ordered don't like the new design, you can email
me to cancel your order. I don't think that'll happen but I wanted to give
you the chance to do that. ([EMAIL PROTECTED])

Folks...these should be THE BEST chapter tees we've every had so don't miss
out. Time is running out. I'm extending the ordering until May 19th but
don't wait too long.

Hey to all
In response to Laura Lees brain problem...I too have seizures! Only in
Mayberry can a person take such a horrible "brain problem" and make it
humorous! If any others out there in our little corner have these problems
you know just how frightening this can be. It is nice to actually be able
to laugh at these kind of things. What better way to hallucinate than to
do it about TAGS! And the fun girls to boot!!! I think we all can learn
from this. Life is too short to cry about our crazy stuff, we all need to
learn to laugh a bit. Is this not why we are members of this particular
club? Thank you Laura Lee for your courage to not only speak out, but to
make this funny! I hope those of you that are fortunate enough not to have
this problem can laugh with us and count your lucky stars it is not you.
Thanks for letting me have my say ,now I can "have a Mayberry day"! I wish
the same to all of you!
peace Rose daLomba

Greetings From The Land O' Elvis!
I am just sitting at the old Smith-Corona and pounding out a few words
while the twisters are headed this way. I couldn't help notice the question
about Depakote.
Depakote is a "mood-leveling" medication . It is used to fight depression
and bipolar illness.Hope this helps.
