Subject: There is a Time

"Hey" everyone! I've got a question. In which episode is it that the
Dillard's perform "There is a Time" and Charlene Darling sings it? My
father (bless his heart!) taped almost all 48 hours of the TVLand
special for me and the song was right there, uncut. What a joy that was!
I've know the tune to that song since my Nashville days, but I had never
heard the vocals. I had to rewind the tape twice to listen to it. It's a
hauntingly beautiful song! Is there a recording of that actress singing
it with the Dillards? But I can't find the episode and I want to hear it
again, so please let me know.

Speaking of Nashville, I learned from the Inside TVLand special that Jim
Clark and I were at Vanderbilt University at the same time. My close
brush with celebrity!! Jim and I didn't know each other, though, 'cause
he was cutting class to watch TAGS reruns and I was cutting class to
watch "The Waltons."

My 13-year old daughter was making her lunch the other morning and, in a
rush to catch the school bus, she warned me, "I'm leaving a mess here in
the kitchen, but I'll make up for it by being real healthy."

A daughter who quotes Ernest T.Bass. What more could a Mom ask for? I am
so proud.

Subject: Re: WBMUTBB T-shirts, Sweatshirts and Mouse Pads

Hey folks,

One last reminder. Friday is the deadline for ordering. We've had several
more folks order in the last week and most of them have gotten their checks
to me. Please get your order in if you want a t-shirt or sweatshirt. Jan will
be taking that order to the shop on Monday and we won't be ordering too
many extras of the tees and NO extra sweatshirts so if you want one...now's
your chance.

The mouse pads looks WONDERFUL!! We got the "proof" copy the other day and
let me tell you that it is great! I'll have plenty of them laying around
the house for quite some time (I had to order 150) because we've only sold
about 4 of 'em. ha ha... Maybe Jan will let me live but the house will have
the "mousepad rubber" smell for a while. :-)

For those the ordered before last week, I've already cashed your checks and
put the money in the back. I didn't like have that many checks laying
around the house in a drawer so I went on and deposited them...just wanted to
let you know.

Get those orders in by going to the URL above and filling out the form then
get your check to me ASAP.

I can also accept credit cards if you use the PayPal.com service. You can
sign up for the service by using the link below, if you're not already using
it, and then you can use their service to email me your payment. You'll get
$5 just for signing up. Several WBMUTBB members are using this service so I
figured I'd give you the option of paying this way.

Mostly, just get those orders in ASAP. "What's your hurry?!!" :-)

Subject: Fuzzy Peaches

Been several comments about Andy's line about countin' peaches before
they're fuzzed up good. That line is right there after the wonderful Dick
Elliott (as our Little Fat Mayor) delivers that great line about sitting
there and letting that movie company "make fun of your little fat mayor."

For you Johnny Coons fans, right after that, Andy is walking down Mail
Street which has been refurbished for the Hollywood look when he encounters
Johnny painting one of the storefronts. There is a great shot of Andy and
Johnny, Andy is incredulous while Johnny is all reared back, proud of his
new window. Of course, later, Johnny is one of the men on the saw when
they start to cut down the old oak tree.

I was watching one of TAGS on TV Land last night and saw the original Floyd.
Does anyone know what happened to that guy or why they decided to go with
Howard McNear? By the way no one could play Floyd like Howard! I am just
curious.

Subject: ABOUT RON DOING A TAGS MOVIE

|Just about the ONLY way I would trust Ron Howard to do a TAGS movie was if he
promised/affirmed/swore that he would NOT allow cursing in the movie. Most of
the movies he has done is "ripe" with 4 letter words; the r-rated ones that
finally make it to satellite channels where they are "Cleaned-up" ((the only
way we watch them)) still have many offensive words in them, including blasphemy
of God's name.

That line comes from the "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs" episode and is one of the
all-time classics.

I just received the 1961 TAGS Mayberry Squad Car from Bob in West Virginia
(one of our fellow TAGS friends). All I can say is...it's big! What a
beautiful piece of work he did on the car. I even had it retrofitted for a
4 door as the model comes in a 2 door. Wow! What a job he does.

Hey,
The quote "giraffes are selfish " comes from the show "Dogs, Dogs,Dogs".
It 's the one where Barney is trying to get funds for the
jailhouse...especially them cots!!
Seems Otis's cot has a rather large sag in it!! Opie finds a stray dog
,they feed it and
more and more come to the jailhouse so Barney takes them to a field and
drops them off.
(Because the man coming about the funds is coming for a visit)
It starts to storm and Opie is worried....real worried especially about
the little one....Barn tries
to console him and says dogs look out for one another especially them
small ones...
not like giraffes...they look out only for them selves they don't care
...yea giraffes are selfish..
It goes something like that ...(don't worry they rescue them critters!!)
BY the way I quote TAGS all the time so do my kids sometimes we get some
strange looks!
Glad to hear we're not alone!!

happy motoring!

This is for Aynisllinda: the line, "Boy, Giraffes are selfish" came from the
episode "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs (episode # 93 written by Fritzell and Greenbaum.)
It's one of my favorites and the line is on my screensaver at work. So far,
none of the folks in my office have a clue as to what it means! I sure do
have some fun with that one!!! Crystal

The giraffes are so selfish line comes from the "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs"
episode.

I have so many favorites lines from TAGS it would be hard to pick just
one.
Here are some of my favorites:

"Andy, even high school kids don't talk about the weather."
"Just HAD to have an apple."
"Here at The Rock, there are two rules....."
"No more carefree days, no peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. It is
definitely no
fun when that steel door clangs shut."
"A decoy. Shazam!"

I've wondered why Miss Ellie is not acknowledged in the credits for the
show. I know Mr. Burt gets a plug for her wardrobe, but other than
that, nothing.Do I vaguely remember the announcer during the original run
mentioning her name?
Rick......"Soap?"

I get TAGS videos through the Columbia House club. Call their customer

By the way, I'm a new member to the Digest, and this is the first time I've
submitted a message. It's great to read the comments of fellow TAGS lovers,
