When Andy went to Sam Becker's to help deliver the baby, I am assuming he took the squad car. That being the case, how did Barney manage to get out to the farm in all the rain. It is apparent that he went all alone. Also in the same episode, Barney had just hung up on the phone when Andy made a call and in doing so he apologized to Sarah for waking her up. She must really be able to get to bed and fall asleep fast, if she was already sleeping when Andy called. Just something to think about. >> >> Now if I remember correctly, Andy did take the squad car, but when Barney learned from Otis where Andy went Barney got together a "posse" which included Floyd. Barney and the others went to Sams place in Floyds car. Remember, after the birth, when Andy and Barney were out on the porch and Sam came out with "little Andy" the rest of the group who was still waiting in the bushed all said "Ahhhh" when they learned of the babies name. Also, Floyd was armed with a rock because his wife wouldn't let him take a gun. I hope this helps. Dale B. Ill have to look that one up. >> I believe it was about 2 years ago (more or less) I sent a message to this digest asking everyone to bombard the USPS with votes for TAGS to be honored on one of the stamps of the century series but received numerous responses that the person had to be deceased. I then sent a second message stating that the local postmaster said that if TAGS received the highest amount of votes, it would get a stamp. Well, I would venture to say since television shows like Star Trek, Seinfeld, I Love Lucy (she's not been deceased 25 years yet) and Seinfeld all received stamps, that we missed our chance. Maybe they will consider a 50th anniversary stamp, so someone might want to start a petition sometime soon. The unseen character I was probably trying to think the hardest about was...Vera, Norm Peterson's wife from "Cheers". They showed her one time...and she had a pie in the face. I thought that was so funny. Just like they showed Carlton the Doorman on "Rhoda" one time and he had on a gorilla mask. If they ever showed Juanita or Sarah they should've done something like that, something clever and funny to obscure their faces... If you want details, email me. Of course you know the GLOBE is not exactly the most reliable source of information like the telephone or telegraph or tell Floyd (hehe), Linda - the Goober with an inquiring mind. >> If you read about Andy having a heart attack on his Birthday in GLOBE last week then it has to be false! Andy's birthday was last Thursday and GLOBE last week would have been printed at least a few days before being released... just a thought. Ill have to look that one up. >> It is possible but not likely. You could, conceivably, have a stamp with Andy and Barney on it and draw them to not resemble Andy Griffith or Don Knotts...but what would be the point? All I have to go on is, the other stamps in the "Celebrate the Century" series. The "I Love Lucy" stamp did show Lucy and Desi...but Desi died in 1986 and Lucy died in 1989, and the stamp was introduced in 1999. The "Star Trek" stamp just showed the Enterprise but no cast members. "Sesame Street" I believe showed Big Bird or somebody. But "All in the Family" just showed Archie's and Edith's chairs...no Archie or Edith, and the "Seinfeld" stamp just showed Jerry's apartment door. I would love to see a TAGS stamp but I want it to be done right. If they made one now it would most likely show the courthouse with an early 60s Ford Galaxy squad car in front... I noticed recently on several TV Land airings of Gomer Pyle USMC that it is rated TV-PG. What gives? I can't imagine anything on that show being offensive. Remember we are talking Escapist Literature here, dude. I think it is best just to watch and enjoy!! >> In Kenneth's defense, we are all aware that we're watching "Escapist Literature." But some of us Trained Noticers enjoy the little inconsistencies that pop up -- and sometimes it's a real art form to be able to spot them. If we limit our discussions to just "Watching and Enjoying" we'd very much limit the scope of this digest. On another topic, does anyone have a clear graphic of the little Mayberry pen & ink drawing that is seen during the closing credits down on the bottom left (and sometimes the bottom right)? I'd love to have that little image on a shirt. It would be one of those things people would kind of recognize, but wouldn't be able to quite put their finger on until they asked you about it. Mrs. Potter from M*A*S*H was mentioned. Colonel Potter was of course played by Harry Morgan. (He never lived in Mayberry, but boy wouldn't he have fit in?) There was a second wife of Harry Morgan on a television show who was never seen except once, although the same two characters were later on their own series. Can anyone name the original show and can you tell me how his wife appeared in her only actual appearance although she was mentioned frequently? So maybe you can help me. I've got a TAGS sound byte on my desktop at work and I can't for anything figure out which episode it comes from. Here it is: Floyd (as only Floyd can deliver a line): "You fall down a well...You're wet!" Help? Thanks in advance, Doug "Hog Winslow" Johnson "She married the taxidermist which sowed up her head." ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of wbmutbb-digest V2 #173 ***************************** ************************************************** ~ Visit our sponsor ~ Weaver's Department Store ~ http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/ ************************************************** You must send your comments to the Digest from the address you used to join WBMUTBB or your message will not be posted.
