I don't think the first Floyd's last name was ever mentioned. He was in the
episode 'Stranger in Town" and was played by Walter Baldwin. The only time I
remember "Colby" being used is in "Mayberry Goes Hollywood" when Floyd
changed the name of his shop to 'Colby's Tonsorial Parlor' and he was played
in that episode by Howard McNear.

Subject: Ohio Clubs Unite!!

I'm repeating a message I sent earlier in the week. To any clubs in the
state of Ohio, if you'd be interested in trying to organize some sort of

event with other clubs, then e-mail me at the address to follow. I think

working together we could do something BIG!! E-mail at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED], were excited, cause this Tuesday, June 13th
we've got Andy's boyhood home on Haymore St. in Mt. Airy rented for the
night......can't wait to get there.......Lotsa Luck to You &
Yours........Dave & Pattie.
Dave and Pattie,
I hope you get a great turnout for your gathering. That is something I
have wanted to do here in Nebraska for a long time, but never had/took
the time to organize. Even if it's nothing more than a Sunday afternoon
of Aunt Bee's fried chicken and apple pie, the fellowship with other
"Mayberrians" would be so wonderful.
In the Bed & Breakfast industry, we have a day set aside nation wide,
where we open our doors to the public. Perhaps there could be a weekend
like that for WBMUTBB and TAGSRWC Chapters to unite in their own states.
Of course, that would never begin to replace the Mayberry Days
celebration that happens each year, the last weekend of September, in
Mt. Airy NC. I wouldn't miss that for anything.
Oh, and have fun and Andy's boyhood home..You'll love it...just love it.
There's a special feeling that you feel in your heart in that home, that
is hard to describe. I suspect only "Andy fans" feel it. You'll
recognize it when it happens.

Do Great Minds Think Alike or What, (Or Do We Just Both Have Too Much Time
On Our Hands?)?
As y'all may recall, a few months ago, I wrote in that Helen came to
Mayberry from the Witness Protection Program--she wasn't really trained to
teach, at least not at first. She got in trouble with that mob she was
studying about for her master's, and the G-Men had to whisk her to Mayberry
quick like, give her a teaching job (she got her teaching credits at night
school), and the rest is history. In fact, that very well may be how Andy
met his first wife. Through the Witness Protection Program. She could have
been fleeing the TWA people, or whoever it is over there causing trouble in
Ireland. I first thought perhaps she was a
gypsy, and I still kinda hold to that belief, but Opie's red hair WOULD
be a lot easier to explain if we go with Miss Poovey's theory of the Irish
Rose. So, I'll go with that Irish lassie running from TWA, or whoever.
You see, THAT'S why the crime rate is so low in Mayberry. It's made of
of people running away from crime, and not toward it.
Also, have you trained noticers ever noticed how very few people arrive in
Mayberry by car, unless they are closely connected to the town, and/or
unless it is by accident or mistake? Have you noticed that? Most people
come by bus or train--and the drivers, I bet, are government operatives.
Now, I know some of you are thinking Mrs. Lesh. But Mrs. Lesh was an
outlaw. And outlaws can always break the government's secrets. That's what
makes them outlaws.
And that explains the discrepancy in the distance we were always being given
of Mayberry's distance to other towns. Sometimes it was 12 miles to Mt.
Pilot, another time it was a good hour's drive. And the same with
Raleigh. They don't want us to know where it really is!
Oh, and now Miss Poovey has come up with the Floyd/Andy evidence.
Folks, This is BIG. It's REAL BIG.
I don't know about the rest of y'all, but my bucket is just a vibrating!

Dear Alan. I tried without success to get an Email to "Mike" at [EMAIL
PROTECTED]
to thank him for his kind words about my scripts on TAGS.in the June 1
newsletter. I must have his address incorrect, it was not delivered. If you
are in touch, would you tell him I very much appreciated his remarks. Us
ancient egos thrive when viewers today still find pleasure in our efforts of
forty years past...and I wish him and his'ns the best from Mayberry...and
also same to you ol Prince...Harvey Bullock
