DebbieDubose's question of what Maude says reminded me of a way to find wo
was "it" when playing a game, and it went like:
Acka, backa, soda cracker,
Acka backa boo.
Acka backa soda cracker,
Out goes you!
This was repeated until the last person was left standing as "it", and what
she says sounds an awful lot to me like the first two parts of this little
rhyme.
May not be correct, but it's as close as anyone has come so far!!
All Y'all have a great day.
By the way - y'all is one a'y'all. More than one is All a'y'all. Possessive
is all a'y'all's.
Got it now??

I have bought a lot of TAGS tapes and taped the rest, but I would love to
have a complete set, in order and unedited. Is there such a thing that
anyone out there knows about? If so where do I order? Mary

Hey To All!
Haven't heard of anything happening that is BIG for a TAGS convention/fan
gathering either in west Tennessee or in my area, the Nashville area.

The one in Pidgeon Forge? Are you speaking of Meadowview that is going on
right now? That is in Kingsport isn't by Pigeon Forge or DollyWood. It is
North/Northeast of Knoxville by the Tennessee/Virginia line in the corner of
our state. Have a friend who is there now attending "Meadowview".

Hey To All!
Yep! It has been quite a while but one of our local stations had bought the
syndication (rerun) rights and aired it. I haven't seen it lately locally so
their rights must have expired.

Last night me and Elvisfife headed out to the local Chili's to relax an
play some NTN trivia. For those of you who never heard of it, it's a
satelite trivia network that is broadcasted into bars and pubs across
the US. You play with a little wireless keyboard, answering questions
that are asked on screen. Evryone playing has a screen name and you are
not only playing with others in your location but with others across the
country. Anyways, on Friday they have a game at 8pm called
"Retrospective" which is all about classic TV. Needless to say,
misspoovey wins this one practically every time we play on Fridays! Last
night there were two TAGS references....First Gomer was mentioned. The
question was "What product was really advertised and sold over TV?" One
of the incorrect multiple choice answers was "Gomer's Pile Relief Salve"
! (Yuck!!!) The other question was "In the opening segment, what were
Opie and Andy carrying?" Duuhh!!! Of course everyone in the bar knew
that one!

The lounge singer whose brain is filled with mostly useless trivia~the
groovy misspoovey~

1961 - it's so rare that the Allmusic.com guide doesn't have it listed, I've
never seen one but TVLand gave away a copy of it for their Fandemonium
promotion and Capitol specially made for them a CD of it. What's on it?

I agree that this is great news! FINALLY!. I just hope they continue
airing it after their 'Block Party Summer' is over until all the episodes
have aired at least. Because there are 9 Monday's in July & August, and
figuring on 6 shows a night.. that's only 54 episodes.

Mayberry R.F.D Also airs on Ted Turner's new network, Turner South, but not
many cable companies choose to (or can) carry it right now. My
understanding is he won't allow it outside the south, which turns satellite
providers off.

Charlene and the boys have cabin fever, and Dud has run off again with

Rodney is about ready to fight Doug cause Doug told him they ain't no
Easter bunny! I need to run em thru the creek and take em to see the
Mayberry folk.

If anyone knows about a meeting in TN...please let me know!

That item is very rare today, and highly prized among Mayberry collectors
(for good reason!) It exists in both stereo and mono versions; the stereo
version is rarer. In mint condition, it's worth around $300.

>My question: What did Big Maude (aka Ralph Henderson) say to Floyd and
Sally on their way out the door to buy food? It >sounded like ackra backra
(maybe it was "out the back way," but they were going out the front door)

This topic came up a few months back. We tossed it around, and a few
different theories emerged, but the general consensus seemed to be that she
says the nonsense words "Acka backa," parapharsing the jump rope rhyme used
by Barney (in a different episode):

My mother, your mother, lives across the way
Every night they have a fight and this is what they say:
"Icka backa soda cracker, icka backa boo,
Icka backa soda cracker, out goes you!"

So, if our theory is correct, Big Maude was in effect saying "get out of
here!"

I'm a HUUUUUUGE TAGS fan, but not Mayberry RFD! I just can't get into it. It
reminds me of afterM*A*S*H. It didn't matter who was left. Andy and Barney
were gone. Barney was good playing off Don, but Andy was the show. Howard
McNear was dead by then and that left Emmet, Goober and Howard Sprague (and
his nasal spray) as the regulars. Of course Ken Berry's biggest claim to fame
is F Troop...WAIT! How about the wonderful Mama's Family. All the above are
stinkeroos. We're sure lucky we've got TAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Noticed in the "Barbershop Quartet" episode that Andy & Aunt
Bee kept calling Burt Mustin "Burt", but in the closing credits,
they had him listed as Jud...makes you think!

Hey To All!
I don't know if we mentioned this when we were discussing Allan Melville as
the bully towards Barn and being Sam the Butcher on "Brady Bunch". I was
watching TAGS last night and they were showing "Barney's First Car". Guess
who was abetting Hubbaps Lesch? Yep Allan Melville. Wonder how many
different characters he played and how many times he was on TAGS as a
character actor?

Taking a leisurely Sunday, no pickle counting today!
