Gosh...Sorry about posting that note to Vicki to EVERYBODY. Oh well, I guess that just serves to show us that any of us can mess up the Bulletin Board now and again and that we ALL need to try harder to NOT post things to the Digest that SHOULD be emailed directly to the person we're wanting to talk to. I have often wondered the same thing, and I have figured it out. He did it the same way Opie got that egg in the bottle. I appreciated the kind words a while back from Harv Bullock who tried to write me and had my email address problem. It's [EMAIL PROTECTED], and not arri. Usually its i before e except after c and e before n in chicken, LOL, but no i in the addy. Indy carried the christmas episode last night with Ben Weaver doing everything he could to get put into jail for the holiday fun. It's a classic. Have a good one all!!! You can tell by the way Barney's standing and the part on Andy's hair. Is that common in the TV industry Allan? >> That's a good question. I once saw some color behind-the-scenes home movie footage of this scene and I noticed *it* was reversed image from the way the scene appeared on the actual show. (I also noticed the car was green.) Anyone else ever see this footage, in any of the documentaries? I especially noticed it in the famous "I think I've heard enough about that tomato" scene. Just thought I'd add my two cents to this one. I am collecting TAGS videos through the Columbia House club. So far I have the first eight. Paul is right -- the quality is excellent. If you want to get them but don't want (or can't afford) to shell out that much every four weeks, you can have C.H. space your video mailings further apart (up to 12 weeks max). My husband used to work for Columbia House several years ago and told me that it's standard procedure for them to offer only ten videos of any series initially. Then, if customer interest warrants, they will purchase more episodes and issue more videos. I asked my customer service rep about this, and he basically said the same thing. I will be filling out the online survey as Paul suggested and hope C.H. will, indeed, issue more TAGS on video. I certainly do enjoy the stories etc. about TAGS. I've been watching TAGS since Opie was a boy. He and I are the same age. I gave him a penny once that had been struck by lightning! It's supposed to bring good luck! I am an elementary school principal...have been for over 20 years. I try to run things here like Andy ran Mayberry....you know....a lot from the heart....a little from the rule book! Well.....gotta go now....one of my students just came in and said...."If you put a willow chip under a sleeping dogs head while it's dreaming.....and at night put the same chip under your pillow...you will have the same dream...." I saw her Saturday just as she was getting off down at the dime store - said "Good afternoon, Laura Lee" just a nice as I could. You know what? She mumbled something that sounded like "Acka backa" and hit me with her parasol! Next time I see her, I'm going to ask her what "Acka backa" means --- surely she won't get made at me for that! dan ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2000 12:28:05 GMT From: "Harriet Browder" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: It's ya'll, you all! >By the way - y'all is one a'y'all. What's your theory?" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2000 08:25:32 -0500 From: "Hull, Darrin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Three Things... I have three things to post today -- a comment, an observation and a question. First, my comment about fans who point out inconsistencies, continuity errors and downright factual flubs in TV shows and movies are actually among the most devoted fans out there. In Star Trek cricles, these "nitpickers" refer to it as the "final frontier of fandom." They are not intended as complaints or insults. The best explanation I can pose is that a nitpicking fan is like that really close friend you have who's not afraid to point out that little dab of mustard on your chin. Others who don't know you as well may just let it stay there because they're not comfortable in pointing it out. Second, my local channel played the episode where we get the name of our wonderful TAGS club ("Who's Been Messin' Up The Bulletin Board?"). I believe it's called "Barney's Replacement." I was very happy to see this one again, but I noticed something again that I see every time. Has anyone else seen it? At the end of the episode, after Barney acts like he's going to cite Roger for parking in an official parking space, he takes back the ticket, tears it in half and... throws it on the ground! A clear violation of the Mayberry Criminal Code! Every time I see that, I half expect the episode to have a punchline like "Citizen's Arrest." I keep thinking that Andy or Roger will cite Barney for his flagrant violation and tease him for it. My final issue is a question about that same episode. I have always been a bit unsure about the "Green River Ordinance." It's never made perfectly clear, but I've always taken it that the ordinance really did not exist, but was made up by Roger to get Barney back on the force. There's just something about that final exchange between Andy and Roger that suggests that to me. Anyone else ever think the same? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2000 11:20:31 EDT From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Meadowview Let us add our "Thank Yous" to all who made Mayberry at Meadowview such a wonderful week-end. Gary, we didn't get to meet you but enjoyed everything and thank you for your effots. David and Allan, your were both your at your usual outstanding best. I must add that I never cease to be amazed by the sincere and affectionate nature that all those involved in these shows treat the audience and fans. I guess that is one of the basic traits of Mayberry.
