Yes, in episode # 121, "Divorce, Mountain Style". I think I liked the other
Dud better. He was goofier-looking and seemed to fit the role better.
Besides, Bob Denver will always be Gilligan!! Crystal M.

In response to Jack Nicholson, he was indeed on the episode of the deserted
baby. And, believe it or not, he also made another appearance in one of the
color episodes. Aunt Bea was on jury duty and Jack Nicholson was charged with
stealing a TV set. Everybody thought he was guilty except Aunt Bea, because
he had such nice eyes. Andy later caught the real thief and proved Aunt Bea
correct!!

This is actually rather common among singers (I'm a music director, so I
oughta know). I've known many people who sound fine when singing in a
group, but if they attempt a solo, they're just plain awful. If someone is
say, sitting on the porch and harmonizing with a friend, they relax and take
it easy, but when they know people are listening to them, they get all
tensed up and start straining.

There are also people who do fine when singing solos, but sound rotten when
singing with a group. This is usually due to the fact that they listen only
to themselves and make no attempt to blend with the others.

I love the episode the Haunted house the only thing I couldn't figure
out, when Barney,Gomer, and Andy ran from the house to the car(because of the
ghost)when they got to the car Gomer says"where's Andy"and he said to
Barney"I guess this makes you the sheriff now"and Barney goes in to get
him(Andy)and Andy was up on the stairs pulling strings on the axe to make it
float,I was wondering how Andy got the axe up there so fast.Even though I
thought that was one of the funniest episodes of the Andy Griffith show I
still have to wonder how he did that with the axe.Gollllllly and Shazam,it's
probably the lightning like Andy said.David<Mayberry fan in

I would like to add the woman shoplifter to the list. She should have
made sure that she didn't clank when she had all that stuff in her coat
because little old ladies aren't supposed to clank. I'm not sure I'm
quoting Andy exactly as it has been awhile since I saw that very funny
episode.

I was watching one of those "Truth Behind the Sitcom" shows on Fox last
night and it was partially about MASH. I was reminded that the episode
where Col. Blake left was entitled "Abyssinia Henry."

"I'll clean him up later!" That's gotta be one of my favorite
episodes! Have you noticed...in this scene...that the initial "splat"
of the tomatoe looks different when it actually happened...than it does
in the subsequent pictures. It looks as though the director "touched
up" Otis' shirt to make it look a little more dramatic. Check it
out....may be my imagination.

Another great moment in Griffithology....Gomer is sworn in as a
deputy...while Andy takes a few days off.....Barney and Gomer come to
Andy's house to get another set of handcuff keys...and Gomer "Just had
to have an apple!" Gosh I laugh just thinking about the look on
Barney's face! Classic!

That's enough....I think I'll just go back to the woods and hermitize
myself!

Well......I hesitate to say it.....cause there's lots of "haints" in
that old house....but I believe you're referring to the Remshaw House!
I hear that he did away with his hired hand.....with an ax! No....I'll
just leave the baseball where it lies thank you......there are some
things that ought not to be messed with! " I guess that makes you
sherriff now!"

Well.....Barney the "squirt" entered the scen when Barney almost "tied
the knot" with that new gal.....who lived with her "dad!" The lightbulb
gave off so much heat...that she had to turn off the light...Andy asked
Barney why such a nice pretty girl like her....would be interested in a
"squirt" like you! "Where do you get off calling me a squirt....Thelma
Lou doesn't think I'm a squirt!"

In the McAlister case.....watch the milk bottle......in one shot....the
milk clings to the class....in the other...it looks like it hasn't been
touched.....even though just a few seconds had elapsed....now that's
fast milk! Also.....When Barney comes into Floyd's Barber Shop all
dressed up in the old salt and pepper.....what a great scene...where
Barney gives Floyd a cigar....and says...."35 cents a copy....I plan on
smokin' about 8 a day!'

Sometimes when things aren't goin' right....I can think of a few
episodes of TAGS and turn a bad day into a great one! Lottsa luck to
you and yours!

Regarding Aunt Bee being protrayed by a man pushing Barney's car makes one
recall Curtis Mayfield's hit - "Pusher Man"!

Glad everyone enjoyed Meadowview.....Did all you whatnots act like somebody?
Sorry I missed it but someone had to take charge of the chicken thieves back
at the home front. I won't miss Mayberry Days though, already got a room
downtown, so's my feet won't go to sleep!

Subject: TVLand Challenge

Here's a challenge for all of us who get TVLand! We've all been very happy
to see the epoligues added to TAGS on TVLand, but we're sad to see some of
the other scenes we know and love cut to make room for the normal
syndication run of commercials.

See if you can spot the "commercial-cuts" made in the TVLand episodes and
post them here!

For example, on last night's episode (and I could be wrong here), I think I
spotted a cut scene. The episode was "Ernest T. Bass Joins The Army" and,
if I remember right, there was a scene cut from the end of Andy and Barney's
discussion about leaving an extra quarter tip by mistake at the diner.
Barney (after suggesting that he go back and retrieve it) finally decides to
leave it there. Andy says, "You're all heart, Barn."

If I remember correctly, Barney goes into his phrase about "the quality of
mercy is not strained, it droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven" and then
says "You're not talkin' to a jerk you know!"

I could be mixing two episodes here, but I think I'm right.

Speaking of appearing/disappearing abilities, has anyone wondered why
Earnest T. Bass was able to write a note (tied to a rock) using some really
big words and no grammatical mistakes, but in a later episode, only can read
words like "No Hunting, Open and Close"?

I think I have the final word on what happened to Warren after he was
dismissed from TAGS.

He started a new career in show business working from the bottom. He began
in night clubs and other venues doing comedy routines and now is the host of
The Tonight Show! ; `) <--- tongue firmly planted in cheek.

Interesting trivia of the day: In the Star Trek Episode, "City on the Edge

Keeler walk by in "1930's Chicago"?
