I'm not exactly saying you're picking your peaches before they're fuzzed up
good, but I believe you're referring to a scene in "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs."
Actually this phrase is used twice (slightly differently) in the episode.

He actually does this after they bring the dogs back to the courthouse for
the last time in "Dogs Dogs Dogs". Nice follow up to the "Giraffes are
selfish!" speech...

Why that would be Floyd's Barbershop! I think I also remember Foley's
grocery popping up along with the TV repair shop (redubbed Radio Repair,
since that episode took place in the 1930s).

As someone who lives out west and has trouble getting to the events back
east, I appreciate seeing the pictures from Meadowview. This may be a
stupid question and show how ignorant I am ... but who is Elizabeth McRae?
I can't place her name or picture. Thanks for your help.

Not stupid at all. Elizabeth McRae played Miss Poovey on Gomer Pyle
USMC. She was Gomer's girlfriend. I know that's not Mayberry. The Gomer
Pyle tie in PLUS the fact that she played the older sister (that was
raising her brother when Howard Sprague was being a "big brother" and
helping him study) gets her a good standing with TAGS fans.

Well, there's stupid crooks and then there are stupid crooks.
(A.) The episode with Buddy Ebsen counts but then it doesn't count cause he
did it on purpose. When Andy has a heart to heart talk with the "hobo",
explaining how he influenced young Opie, the hobo decides to stage a robbery
to get arrested so Opie wouldn't have such a high opinion of him. That one
makes me cry!
(2.) Another staged stupid crooks episode is when Rafe Hollister finds
Barney to turn himself in for moonshinning. Even though he ends up in jail
for jaywalking - at least he set out to get arrested for moonshinning.
And (C.) let's see if this one counts....when Opie and his friends push the
squad car ("You gonna arrest them Paw? I know where you can find them." "And
why shouldn't I arrest you?" "I didn't push very hard.") to block the fire
hydrant. Now, kids will be kids, and what a stunt that one is - IF it were
any car BUT the sheriff's car! That's just asking to get locked up!
Harriet
"Sheriff, like you said, I got a train to catch."

In the color episodes, Howard's mother got married and left Mayberry.
Well, I have some follow-up info on her. This morning on Gomer Pyle I
spotted her as Mrs Beezer, Girl Scout Troop leader. Did the second
husband die and she needed someone else to boss around? Guess a pack of
young impressional girls could fit the bill!

Hey, Folks!
I wore my new WBMUTBB chapter T-shirt for the first time a couple days ago.
As I was holding my 8-month-old daughter on my lap to burp her during a
feeding, she noticed the drawing of Barney on the front of my shirt. She
broke out in a big grin and tried to grab Barney off my shirt. She did this
several times, always smiling broadly and trying to get Barney. Finally,
unsuccessful in her attempts to grab Barney for herself, she leaned forward
onto my shirt and gave Barney a kiss -- twice! Now, is this kid her
mother's daughter, or what??
I stumbled across another Barney fan this morning while reading David
Barton's "WallBuilder Report" (www.wallbuilders.com). A small article in
the back reads as follows: "In New Jersey, four kindergarten students were
suspended. The reason? While playing 'cops and robbers' during recess, the
students committed the unpardonable sin -- at least in terms of political
correctness: they pretended that their fingers were guns and pointed them
at each other! They thus violated the zero-tolerance policy for guns at
school and were disciplined. Perhaps Deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts) on the
classic 'Andy Griffith Show' was more accurate than he knew when, years ago,
he declared that he could not put his hands in his pockets, for he would
then be guilty of carrying concealed weapons!"
Just wanted to share these with you!
Janet

Laura Lee here, just back from Mize, MS.
Today they showed that "Dinner at Eight" episode.
This is just about everyone's favorite colored episode , but I do wonder if
it had an epilogue. If it did, I would imagine Aunt Bee coming home and
cooking up another spaghetti dinner complete with oregano.
I still haven't seen Aunt Bee fly that plane. But I have been very surprised
that generally speaking I have enjoyed these shows more than I
ever thought--or remembered--I would. The first few had Andy acting
generally angry, let's face it, especially to Opie, and perhaps that so
turned me off that I really never got interested in watching the others. But
he kind of mellowed out as the shows went along.
I'm glad to be back. I'm enjoying the colored shows--who'd have
thunk it? And I'm happy to know I wasn't hearing things with the acka backa
thing from Big Maude (aka Ralph Henderson).

Hey folks.
I know you may have seen this but this is a reminder.
TV Land is suppose to air the Mayberry RFD episode when Andy and Helen get
married on Monday July 3rd at 10pm EDT.
Set your VCRs.
See some of you in Ohio this weekend at the Military Rendezvous.

Sorry, Hull, Darrin, but I think you are mixing episodes here! The quality of
mercy speech was in the episode "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs". (You ain't talkin' to a
jerk, you know!)
