Gomer got kissed by Thelma Lou - square on the jaw. When Barney found out,
he immediately stormed over to Andy's, late at night, and told him "they were
so close you couldn't have put a piece of tissue paper between them". Then
he told Andy they were Kissin'. Andy says- Kissin? and Barney yellls
"KISSIN !!!!" - One of the best scenes yet.

I am SO disappointed! The information about getting into the chatroom with
mIRC was so overwhelming...I got it downloaded and installed but don't know
how to get any further with it. I am so computer ignorant!!! Anyway, I will
keep trying and will try to catch the next chat on the 22nd. I hope all you
folks had a great time and that I don't hear about what I missed on the 14th.
Have a Mayberry kind of day!! Abyssinia, Crystal M. in AL

Hey Folks,

The 1st meeting of WBMUTBB at Sarah's Chatroom went really well! We had over
25 members visit the chatroom durning the course of the evening!!!

We got started at 9pm ET and began breaking up the evening at 11:45pm. It was
a fun evening of folks sharing their favorite quotes and getting to know one
another a little better.

There have been reports that some of our members had a hard time figuring out
how to get to Sarah's. Y'all remember that you don't have to use mIRC to get
there, you can go right to Sarah's from the TAGSRWC web site if you'd like.
Using mIRC is just an option that I like to use.

Don't forget that we'll be doing it again on the 22nd of July at 9pm ET.

http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/anewsome/private/chatting.htm

That link will get you to the chat area of the TAGSRWC site and "Sarah's
Diehards" is the room you'll want to head to. Y'all make plans to drop by!!

To the one who wrote, she didn't know what episode it was that Andy said"that
boy(talking about Opie)must be wearing sandpaper underware"it was "Barney
gets his man"thats when Barney gives a ticket to someone and thats an ex
convict and he accidentally catches him by throwing a "body block"on him as
he says, and another funny saying on that episode was when Barney says"this is
what we call the deadly game I'm in it for keeps"and "I'm not Barney the man
but Barney the bulkhead"that was one of my favorite episodes.Goodluck to you
and yours from Mayberry fan in Louisville.

All of the scenes with Barney are of course very funny & many of them
have already been mentioned. One of my favoriite episodes, is the one
where Aunt Bee unknowingly partakes of a high alchol tonic.
provided=A0by Col. Harvey & Andy arrives home to hear her singing &
playing Chinatown on the piano. That one just cracks me up every time,
as she usually is very prim & proper, like a maiden aunt should be. I'm
not sure but I think this is the one where Barney says "Andy, she's
gassed" It's been awhile since I've seen it

I loved the scenes where Gomer is dancing,I was wondering did Gomer(Jim
Nabors)really dance like that or is that the way he danced on the show.Gomer
was the dancing fool I also was wondering if he won any kind of dancing
contests. And I was also wondering if Goober and the talent he had for
impressions like,sewing his fingers up,doing Edward G Robinson,and
Chester, and who couldn't forget his unforgettable impression of Cary
Grant(Judy,Judy,Judy). They both were to talented for words,Gomers dancing and
Goobers impressions(some combinations huh). From Mayberry fan in
Louisville,bye for now(Judy,Judy,Judy)

Come one, folks, y'all are all just wasting your time and electronic bytes
with all this discussion about the funniest scene in TAGS. I've already
settled this a long time ago by pronouncing the Poor Horatio dialog between
Andy and Opie in Opie's Charity as the funniest scene. Like Opie said "I
enjoyed it!"

Subject: The Way It Works

There has been a little bit of conversation about beer being served at the
Lodge when we all know the county was dry. The laws down south here
sometimes would allow the serving of spirits in private clubs, but not in
public. So restaurants and such had to be dry, but something with a
membership, closed to the public could serve it with a special license.
This strange little law explained all the honky-tonks that once operated as
"private clubs."

I've had enough of you folks making fun of the Barney Shuffle. Next time
you have the urge to laugh at our beloved Barney shuffling around the back
of Weaver's store, you get down and try to do that! You'll have a whole
new appreciation of our agile deputy.

There was also the time when Otis was honored for being a decendent
of Nathan Tibbs- at the end Andy, Mayor Pike, 2 ladies, Otis and his wife
all had a "drink" to celebrate (Nathan would of wanted it that way).

I also remember a time when Andy ordered a draft beer at a restaraunt, but
I can't remember which episode that was.

Paul wrote in response to the question about the outside door in Andy's
bedroom:

>Perhaps the room is supposed to be on >the back side of the house, >with a
>small balcony or sleeping porch >attached.

Remember on the episode Opie and the Bully - when Opie comes to Andy's room
to give him some clothes to change into "in case his get all messed up",
Andy is straigtening his tie in front of his dresser and the door is opened.
You can see it opens onto a porch, however small it is. Course my miniature
Taylor house doesn't have a porch on the second floor but then the front
porch swing is a suspended swing and the show house has a glider and a
rocker....details, details, details.

My favorite line is the all-time classic "Ain't you got a jack?" It's so
typical of Goober and when you try to explain it to non-Mayberrians they
just don't get it...... pity!

Does anyone remember the episode where Andy & Barney are in a junkyard and
Andy comes across a "girly" magazine. And when he looks at who the
subscriber is,
it was Barney. Was this episode the one with Opie and his newspaper? If
so, I haven't
seen this particular scene but once, many years ago. Is this scene cut out
now?

There was a nice interview with Jim Nabors on Fox News midday today
(central time zone). He's got a new gospel album out featuring traditional
and contemporary Christian songs...his first new recording
in twenty years! Anything "released" in the past twenty have just been
"reshuffled" songs from previous recordings. It seems Jim is doing a little
farming in Hawaii and he grows macademia (sp) nuts which he sells to a
processor for distribution. Jerry Hutchinson

Subject: favorite scenes

It sure is hard to pick favorite scenes from Andy and Barney, but here goes.
One is where Otis fell in the courthouse and later goes to see the lawyer.
The lawyer goes into Floyd's barbershop to question him since he was a
witness. Floyd, in his own little world as usual, keeps asking the lawyer
(Mr. Bentley, I think was his name) about his suit. During this whole scene,
Andy is there trying to get Floyd to concentrate on the accident, not on the
suit. What kills me is the end when Floyd says, "That only proves one
thing, If you want a good suit, you've got to go to Mt. Pilot". Another
favorite scene is when the Darlings come to pledge the baby Andylina to Opie
for marriage. Barney and Andy are in the courthouse and Barney tells Andy
what it feels like to be chased by Halcion Loretta Winslow. "Pretty Name"
"Ugliest girl you ever saw in your life". The scene goes back and forth and
to me, everything they talk about just about kills me, stuff like "that
burial plot alone is worth a fortune." Then later Brisco comes in and talks
about the dowry that Opie would get and he talks about the side hill with
good strong bolders and a cow comes right with it. A house with no roof,
"Well, if you want a roof you've got to put in on yourself, this can't be
one way". Do you all remember these? "Try to control your passion Aunt Bee,
you're meltin' the ice cream"
