That is one of my favorites too - classic Floyd - totally oblivious to how
serious the situation is and totally involved in Mr. Bentley's suit.

I don't know if this was every discussed before, but, I was wondering if
anyone knows the title of the Mayberry RFD theme. It sounds like the same
music from the scene in The Bank Job, where Barney is checking out the bank,
right before he gives Asa the "security check."

Come one, folks, y'all are all just wasting your time and electronic bytes
with all this discussion about the funniest scene in TAGS.
>>>

Dan, let me ask you this: when you woke up this morning, did you notice, was
your head at the pillow-end of the bed, or was it at the foot-end?

- --Paul

P.S. Laundry put too much starch in your shirts again? I remember one
time, they used too much starch, and it kinda chafed you in your armpits and
you was mad all day.

... Andy & Barney are in a junkyard and Andy comes across a "girly"
magazine. And when he looks at who the
subscriber is, it was Barney. Was this episode the one with Opie and his
newspaper?
>>>

Actually, this funny scene comes from "The Lucky Letter" (the one in which
Barney gets a chain letter from Floyd). There are two different episodes in
which Andy and Barney search the town dump, the other being "Opie's
Newspaper" which you mentioned above.

That was "Andy's Rich Girlfriend." BTW, this didn't happen in a Mayberry
restaurant, Andy and Peggy were dining in Raleigh that night, since he'd
already taken her to the Weenie-Burger.

There are so many favorite shows its hard to pick just one. But one of the
greatest is when Barney has to meet the new requirements to keep his deputy
job. Who but Barney would get to eat and eat and eat and still not gain
weight? The part where he's hanging from the neck harness just cracks me up.
His eyes can bulge out so far! And you have to hand it to Andy for coming up
with the idea of the heavy chain to put his I.D. on. Andy really was the
brilliant one on the show!!! Gotta go, the gang's on "Nick" and I can't miss
a second of it!!!! [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I really enjoy Sarah's Chatroom and visit often. Unfortunately, I was unable
to get in the night of July 14 for some unknown reason. I think it had
something to do with mIRC but am not positive. Also, the room bumps people
out occasionally for no apparent reason. Do others have these same problems
or am I just lame! Anyway, really enjoy your site and hopefully I can
participate in the July 22 chat.

<<Another favorite scene is when the Darlings come to pledge the baby
Andylina to Opie
for marriage. Barney and Andy are in the courthouse and Barney tells Andy
what it feels like to be chased by Halcion Loretta Winslow. . .>>

Gosh! Thanks for reminding us of this scene, Robin. It is a
double-up-and-hoot dialogue, isn't it! If I'm not mistaken it contains the
famous "Beasto Maristo" line from Barney. It's even funnier because of the
very natural, realistic way Don and Andy sipped coffee and played off of
each other. Wonderful. Yep, this has to be one of my all time favorite funny
scenes.

Wonder if Halcyon Loretta was any kin to Hoggette Winslow? Sounds to me
like both their names might be French.

Well by gum iffen it warn't our dear ol Mayor Stoner doing his mayor job
all over agin in the movie "The Over The Hill Gang Rides Again" on Starz
Family network. Familiar Mayberry faces turn up anywhere & everywhere, &
i'ts so much fun to spot them. It was fun also to see the cast of old
timers Fred Astair, Edgar Buchanan, who was another Mayberry guest star,
Chil Wills, Walter Brennan, & Andy Devine , all great performers.

Just a quick question for all you trained noticers. While watching Aunt
Bee the Warden last evening on Nick at Night, it appeared to me as if the
juxtaposition of the maximum security cells had been altered. If they
were, it was obviously done to facilitate the dialogue between the
characters in the two cells. So were the cells altered to be at what
appeared to be a 45( angle? Or are they always like that and it was only
accented by the camera angle and the tight shots? Just something that's
been prayin' on my mind.

Larry

I too would take the Mr. Potato set.

Speaking of the Lady Druggist.....One of the great quotes in the "Andy
Sells the Cannon" episode....is when Barn is sittin' in the drugstore
drinkiug one soda after another...lamenting the fact that Andy had been
dishonest about the virtues of the cannon.....when he asks for another
soda....Elli says...."Barney you've had three already.." and he
says...."If you don't sell it to me....I'll just get it somewheres
else!"

Hey folks,

Some folks have been having a hard time with Miss Crump's Quizes on the
TAGSRWC web site because they weren't working well. I just wanted
everybody to know that there are now 15 quizes that you can take
(multiple choice) from Miss Crump.

The quizes aren't "new" but some of you may never have taked the quizes
or may have forgotten all about it. Y'all head on over to the TAGSRWC
web site (http://mayberry.com/tagsrwc/) and click on the "Miss Crump's

Subject: What Did The Poor Thing Think?

You remember that scene from "Prisoner of Love" when Andy and Barney were
fighting with drunk and disorderly Otis because he wanted to get
locked up, but they wanted him out of jail? Can you just imagine what
poor Mrs. Campbell must have thought when Barney delivered a gassed and
angry Otis to her door? Can you just imagined what she said to Barney when
Otis told her he WANTED to be locked up, but they wouldn't let him?
And what could have Barney given as a reason for not locking Otis up?
The truth?
"Well, the thing is, Miz Campbell, me and Andy just got ahold of a real
cutie down at the jail, and I'm just afraid if Otis is locked up in the
cell next door, what with his hollering about pink elephants and all, and
him wantin' me or Andy to tell him bedtime stories, and fetch him water and
such, well, the truth is, he's liable to ruin our chances for
gettin' lucky. Now, you can understand that, can't you?"
I'm sure she could.
Laura Lee Hobbs, as understanding as the next gal (Just put me in a gold
truck, Mrs. Campbell, and I'd have run him over for you. I wouldn't have
wanted to kill Barney, just hurt him a little bit.)
Andy to Aunt Bee: "It's too bad Mayberry don't have a psychiatrist. I bet
Barney would be a real study."
