Hey everybody ... Welcome to all the new folks in town. This little group
just keeps growing and growing!

Which brings me to my question ...

What was the population of Mayberry? I seem to remember a couple of
different numbers being mentioned a various times ...

And has the WBMUTBB chapter now exceeded the original population???

Maybe we ought to pass a bond issue to pave those streets and put up some new
storefronts downtown. Maybe we could get a movie company or something to
come to town ....

Many of you have responded to my suggestion for us to start an All Andy
channel. I thought of it during Fandemonium weekend. So far we're up to
$7.50. Maybe we could get Don Knotts to have an Andython to raise money.
Here's a brainteaser for you. How many TV shows has Andy starred in? tick
tick tick tick tick tick tick
1. TAGS (of course)
2. Headmaster
3. The New Andy Griffith Show.
4. Salvage 1
5. Matlock.
Did I miss any? Let me know TAGS fans!!!

Au Contraire. Doodles Weaver played Regis for sure. He ALSO played the
mailman on "The Handyman" episode. He shook hands with Edgar Buchanan and
realized his hands were soft.

Larry and Steve,

I'm not a Coloradoan, but I'd much prefer a TAGS marathon over any
sports.......just ask Feb, she'll tell ya,
I am an equal opportunity NON sports watching kind of guy.....Don't watch
football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey........none of it on
TV....Last football game I watched all of was Superbowl 87. I did go see a
baseball game with the local team here in Norfolk in July with my Aunt and
Uncle. First baseball game I have watched since I graduated HS in 78.

On to other important people:

Congratulations to Paul and Cindee on Melynn's birth. If y'all need a
babysitter, and happen to be in Norfolk, VA sometime, and the Enterprise is
in port, look me up.............No charge.

Hey, Paul! Does the hospital have a website where we can see your new
addition? Congratulations! (You could have named her Andelina, you know.)

Hi folks,

In case anybody is interested, I put some pictures of Melynn online. These
were taken on one of those throw-away cameras, but they turned out pretty
good:

As far as her name goes, we did consider a few Mayberry names (I liked Clara
and Elinor) but Cindee had her heart set on Melynn, and I know better than
to argue with a woman who's nine months pregnant. I picked her middle name,
Nicole. We thought the initials were cute - MNM.

Tonight, Central time, 9:00 pm, will be the airing of the Mayberry Bible
Study filmed in Birmingham, AL a few weeks ago.  You will see the squad
car, belonging to Judge Joel Laird, remember Joel is the sponsor of the
40th Anniversary show at Oak Mountain  on October 7th.  I am not sure what
all will or will not be shown, they did a lot of filming so we will have to
wait and see.  I did get an e-mail from one of the guys from CNN and they
were well pleased with all the film footage they got.
Tune in tonight, I can't wait

Subject: people not seen together

I thought of something the other day that I have never seen anybody in the
group mention before. That is that some of the main characters are never
seen together in any scenes. Such as, I don't ever remember seeing Thelma
Lou and Otis in the same scene or (correct me if I'm wrong) I can't
remember Floyd and Gomer in the same scene. I can think of a few others but
won't mention all of them. It just seems kinda strange that of all the
people in the cast being together for so long and some of them never
actually appearing on the screen together.

"The Show is titled CNN News Stand, please relay on WBMUTBB for me.

Thanks for the information, Nancy!!!

As a new subscriber, it is now with great delight that I open my email and
read the comments from other members every day! I grew up in the South -
born in Atlanta, and lived for a time in South Carolina - so watching TAGS
is like watching a lot of my friends and relatives play out their day-to-day
activities. And now to find so many people who form an "extended Mayberry
community" online... shucks, it really IS like a homecoming.

I know Don Knotts recently received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Does George Lindsey have his star? Also I understand he once owned a restaurant
- where was it located. Also, whatever happened to Flora, Alberta Nelson? I saw
Goob on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Believe it or not his accent wasn't as
strong as it is on TAGS. That episode was an interesting story. And finally,
does he ever get kissed on TAGS or RFD? Thanks for all and any answers!
