I was wondering if programming varies from state to state, but here in CA they are not showing it in the mornings anymore. They used to have 2 back to back episodes and they replaced it with the Munsters. It's just not the same. If anyone has any info please let me know. Thank you Mayberry 4ever Elaine ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Sep 2000 14:28:11 EDT From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: wbmutbb-digest V2 #321 It is sad that Ron Howard's Mother did died. It's the one where he cleans up the jail keys so well that they won't open the lock anymore. I think the cousin's real name is Malcolm something. Can anyone help me out with his name? I've seen him in plenty of movies, but his name always eludes me. >> Cousin Virgil was played by Michael J. Pollard. I remember him playing a character that the Robinson's encountered while they were "Lost In Space". I checked the Internet Movie Database and his filmography lists 60 movies and numerous guest appearances on television made by Mr. Pollard. Busy fella! Airy. If you are heading that way for Mayberry Days, you may want to plan an alternate route. We have relatives that live in Mt. Airy and they say there are often delays for hours to get from Statesville to the Mt. Airy exit. Anyone in that area have info? Just a thought...Happy motoring! It looks great framed and on my office wall. Had good comments from fellow workers who know what a TAGS fan I am. Just wanted to put in a good word in case anyone else is interested. Thanks, Jack. It's very sad indeed. You wonder how and why people like Andy get it. However I always pray the rest of the cast at TAGS are in good health and particularly George, my Mayberry love. If anyone missed the message about the site StreetMail you'll want to check it out. Terry Collins, one of our own, maintains it - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Recently I sent in a nomination for StreetNames to the Mt. Airy edition and sure enough here it is. Read on. Harriet, not always on the chicken thief trail ATTA BOY, LUTHER! From Streetmail reader HARRIET BROWDER comes the following: "I'd like to nominate ALLAN NEWSOME and JIM CLARK for a couple of 'Atta Boys'. Allan is from Huntsville and maintains an outstanding web site for The Andy Griffith Show ( http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/index.htm ) and Jim is from Nashville, (and) he composes, edits and prints a newsletter called The Bullet (same site to access). Both the Web site and The Bullet promote watching The Andy Griffith Show, and Mt. Airy, with links and information about the town, the people (some of Andy's childhood friends) and the Annual Reunion Festival that takes place in Mt. Airy every last weekend of September. This year (the festival) is the twelfth (and is) sponsored by the Surry Arts Council. Both gentlemen help put this festival on without making a cent and both contribute most of their spare time enjoying that very thing! They deserve a tribute to their dedication and participation!" We at Streetmail couldn't agree with you more, Harriet. So, Jim and Allan, consider yourselves officially recognized! Dear Allan In a recent posting a member said he detected my name on the writing credits of a Dick Van Dyke show about a sleepwalker. My erstwhile partner, Ray Allen, and I did write an episode (and only one) for DVD, but the story was about Rob finding Laura's secret benkbook. So we didn't write the sleepwalker episode...except of course if we wrote it in our sleep. Ray and I were great fans of the DVD show and enjoyed a friendship with Carl Reiner, a truly special writer. Our dilapidated "office" at Desilu studio where we worked on other shows was right smack next to Carl's. Carl worked on DVD scripts at home on weekends and brought them in Monday morning for his secretary ( Peggy) to type. And she did, laughing uproariously at page after page. Peggy's explosive laughter came through the battered old wall engulfing us. It was overwhelming! We finally went to Peggy on hands and knees and beseeched her to keep the laughs down . There is absolutely nothing so totally demoralizing than trying to write a comedy show while hearing someone nearby screeching in hysterical laughter at another writer's work. Fiendish torture. Peggy's reaction to our plea?...what else, more laughter. ADD NOTE. I have one of Phil Fox's reproduction 1963 N,C. official JL-327 license plates for the Mayberry squad car. It is a masterpiece, a true beauty. I think he has about forty left end commercial..
