Hey, Gang!

Saw "Man in a Hurry" the other day and I have always wondered about the
saying, "Good Sabbath." (Andy and Barney said "Good Sabbath" to their Pastor
as a farewell.)

Did any of you ever hear this? I've lived in MS & AL and I've never heard
this as a greeting or farewell, but I was wondering if it was a
way of saying goodbye in other parts of the country.

Laura Lee Hobbs, gold truck watcher extraordinaire, and one with an
inquiring mind--like Barney.
(a favorite quote from Barney): "You know Andy, our only crime is that we're
attractive to women."

If you are referring to oldest living cast member of anyone who ever appeared
on the show, that would be actor Charles Lane who played Mr. Frisbee. He is now
101 years old according to his most published birthdate of 1899.

Hey Sandi and everyone else,
You can head over to Weaver's Dept store on the tagsrwc site (tagsrwc.com) or
mayberry.com. Just look for Weaver's Dept Store. You can buy the book right
from the tagsrwc hq. The book is AWESOME!!!!! It's hard to put it down. There
are pictures that have never been seen before. There are comments from the
tags cast, etc. about the pics and the show. All I can say is wow!!!

alright and not cry so much >>

Ok, Miss Poovey...You are now #1 on my list of folks I envy!! I loved your
part 1 letter but part 2 was a real surprise. What a neat fellow Mr. Bullock
is to acknowledge your comments on the Digest. You might consider memorizing
that script (you know, like Barn did the preamble to the constitution or the
officer's oath thing). Anyway, you are one lucky lady to hear from the great
man himself. Happy reading to you!! Crystal M. in AL

Although in real life he was Andrew Samuel, on the show he was Andrew
Jackson so I believe Barn just used the first two letters with the J to
form an affectionate nickname for his cousin! Aunt Bee of Orlando

Subject: A Town Square Public Thank You

Hey To All,
I just want to take a moment to put a public thank you into the Digest.
Allan, I do hope I am not breaking the rules and some one will be giving me a
citizen's arrest.

I just sincerely want to thank all the folks who have sent me condolences
either by email or on the Digest over my losing my 11 yr old companion Cocker
Spaniel, Mickey. It was mighty nice of each and everyone of you and I do
appreciate the thoughts and prayers.

It's been almost a week since he has been gone-it sure doesn't seem like it-
and I am still grieving. I can't tell you how many TAGS episodes I have
watched during his illness and through my restlessness after his passing. I
consider TAGS to be a blessing in my time of need. They can't take the pain
away but they certainly do help me! When I need to turn the tears off, "The
Pickle Story" and "The Loaded Goat" are a sure fire way to get me laughing
even if it is for 30 mins at a time. Gosh, how I wish I could thank each
and every person who was in anyway connect to the makings of TAGS! With the
good Lord watching out for me and with the taped episodes of TAGS, I know I
will get through this.

My Mayberry friends are very dear to me,
Sandi

There's a little more to it: the steps Otis is ascending appear to be the
steps to the courthouse basement! I doubt anyone could have operated a
still down there without Barney's finding out about it (I would think a
working still would give off a strong odor). It's more likely that Otis
had hidden a bottle down there.

Subject: Mayberry Days

Hey to all my Mayberry friends out there. We just got home from Mayberry
Days last night, and let me tell you, we had a GREAT time. Got to see all
my Sarah's Party Line friends again who I don't see NEAR often enough. Went
to the Doug Dillard concert on Friday night, the VW boys concert on Thursday
night, as well as Colonel Tim's Talent Time, and other shows. The biggest
part of my weekend other than being with my Sarah's friends, was that I took
my Gibson Mastertone banjo up there with me, and Doug Dillard, as well as the
VW Boys autographed the head for me. Now that was BIG. In case the VW
Boys, and Doug read this digest, I want to thank you all from the bottom of
my heart. That banjo will be worth more to me than any TAGS item I have,
because y'all are SO nice. Thanks again, and I hope to see you at Mayberry
Days again next year.

Hey Folks,

If any of you happen to be passing through southwest Missouri this
month, I hope you'll have a few mintues to stop at the Joplin Public Library
to have a look at my collection of Mayberry memorabilia. It will be on
public display for the month of October, and if I may say so myself, it is
one of the best collections around.
The library has a large display case, and each month a different local
collector puts his or her collection on display (whatever it is they happen
to collect - last month it was cookie jars, the month before that it was
antique toys). I asked for this month in honor of the 40th anniversary of
TAGS.
To reach the library, just take I-44 to exit 6, which is Highway 43
north. Go north on 43 (which becomes Main Street) about 4 miles to the
corner of 4th and Main; the library is on the left.

Howdy y'all, in reference to the movies Andy made in the seventies,
where he plays another small town sheriff, (no, I don't know the titles,
but I'd like to,) I loved that big old jeep-type vehicle he drove around
in! Luck 't you 'n yers!

Hey Everyone
I watched Black Day for Mayberry last night on Nick at Nite. I laughed
sooooo hard when Andy and the FBI guys told Barney to wait outside. When
they opened the door there he was listening in at the door. It really made
me laugh. My husband asked me how many times I had seen that, I told him it
still makes me laugh like it was the first time.
