Hi Charlie, this is Kevin. Now I'm not for sure, but I beleive it was a
handle to a water pump from a well, at least as close as I can tell. I'm
sure you can get one just like that one for say about $3, but if you knew
exactly what it was it'd cost you $5. Sounds like a good deal to me. Good
luck!

Does anybody know who's house is besides the church? I saw it in one
episode and I could'nt beleive it.

Hey, everybody! Just wanted to let you know that if you haven't visited
the Mayberry Giants website to see the pics from MD00, get yourself over

done an OUTSTANDIN' job getting some great pictures and commentary on
your website in record time. I haven't even tracked down where all my
film is so I can get it developed! BTW, I may have some pics to fill in
some missing links for you (but I ain't promisin' nothin'!) When I get
my pictures developed (hopefully before the holidays), I'll email ya.

I'm not sure about if Jim Nabors ever recorded them, but a good place to
search would be www.amazon.com. But, in the mid 1950's, "Oh My Papa" was a
big hit for Eddie Fisher.

Hey Tim (and all) Glad you liked the Danville IN post, but like dear Lydia
and
ancient Greece.."I'm not from there". Daville IN is a good hour from where
I live,
but it's worth the drive to the Mayberry Cafe. (which I have no affiliation)
Just
promoting my state..also home of Coal City "Mayberry of the Midwest" I'm
not from
there either...but I do like chit chat.

Has this been mentioned by a trained noticer? In the episode where Barney
goes all ga-ga
for Melissa, and is later sued for "breach of promise", the opening scene
shows Barney coming
out of the groceteria with Thelma Lou as Melissa pulls into a space marked
Sheriff car only.
"BUT" The squad car is parked in front of that spot right next to a Fire
Hydrant. Then,
of course Barney does the big U-turn leading Melissa to the Post Office..But
shouldn't
Barney written himself a ticket for parking by the fire hydrant?? or its
there two sets
of laws, one for the citizens and one for the Poe-Leece?

Here's another question for bucket pondering..How many "fast women" were
there is Mayberry?
Now don't get excited..this is a family Digest, What I mean is; how many
ladies were ready to get
married in a one episode story? Melissa, in the episode mentioned above,
would be one.
There may be 3 or 4 others.

Hello All!
Well, now I can say I have been to a "TAGS" event. And I must say it was
great!! The first thing we did was get in the lines for the autographs and
all the lines were LONG! All the stars were very nice but I must say that
Elizabeth McRae was the most friendly. She acted like she had all the time in
the world and she smiled for pictures and she was very gracious and sweet.
Another highlight for me was that I got to meet our Allan. He was as nice as
I figured him to be and took time to stop and speak with folks as he made his
way through the crowd.
That evening the gang put on a show that was truly wonderful. And we were all
surprised by a call from Don Knotts. He spoke on the phone with "Thel" as she
stood on the stage in front of everyone. We heard the call over the speaker
system and it was thrilling to say the very least! He told us all to "Nip it
in the bud". We had the pleasure of seeing episode clips on the big screens.
Ronnie Schell brought his own tape of outtakes from "Gomer Pyle, USMC" and
played it for us. The Dillards (all except Rodney) were on stage for some
music and I heard that they were super. However, during their performance, a
little elderly lady who was sitting in front of our group began having some
problems so we went to help her and missed most of that part of the show.
For those of you who were not there, you really missed it but the temperature
was around 40 degrees and the wind was gusting on top of that so the ones of
us who stuck it out to the end of the show were pretty well frozen by the
time it was over. But I dare say, we'd do it all over again.
Thanks, Allan for the great job you did entertaining us all with the Mayberry
deputy and the others. All the stars and performers were just sensational and
it was a fun day and evening.
