Does anybody know who's house is besides the church? I saw it in one
episode and I could'nt beleive it.

I don't know, really, but is it Otis? I know he mentioned going to choir
practice once. That Otis is a good guy even tho he has a little drinking
problem.

Hey, Otis is a good guess and he is a clue, but it's not him. Care to try
again? Kevin

>>>In one episode the "Battle of Mayberry" from Revolutionary times is
prominent, meaning Mayberry existed prior to 1776-81. In one I saw last
night (about Lady Mayberry) the "Mayberry Centennial" is referred to.
Since the show was set in the early 60s, this means that Mayberry was
founded during the Civil war, 1861-65.
>>>

This came up during the Mayberry Days trivia contest a few years ago. I
"missed" it (even though I was correct) because the quiz organizers had
based the question on conflicting information from different episodes.

"A Plaque for Mayberry" also establishes that Mayberry existed during the
Revolutionary War (Nathan Tibbs helped George Washington capture an entire
regiment). It's just another of those little inconsistencies the inevitably
crept in over the years.

Hello all. I don't post very often, but I thought I should in this case.
I attended the Mayberry
reunion in Birmingham and loved every minute of it. All the guests were
very friendly (and I met
and shook hands with almost all of them). While I was in line to get an
autograph, I overheard
someone in the line next to me say that Howard Morris (Ernest T.) was very
rude. She had said
that he was rude to her little daughter and wouldn't let her kiss him on
the cheek. She seemed
very upset about it. Now I don't know if that was true or not, but he was
friendly enough to me.
Did anyone else experience anything like this? I sure hope not. Maybe I
was just hearing
things.

For those who braved the elements in Birmingham, Ala., for Joel Laird's
celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Andy Griffith Show, it was the
greatest. The warmth of the TAGS fans and TAGS stars more than made up for
the unseasonably chilly temperatures.
My hats off to Joel, his wife, Whitney, and all those volunteers who helped
pull the event off. I have the distinct privilege of having the opportunity
to drive Joel's Mayberry squad car (I've got to get me one of those!).
And to finally cap off the weekend, our own Ernest T. Bass, Howard Morris,
and son, David, were taking the same flight out of Birmingham that I was
Sunday morning on our respective trips home.
 I can't wait for the next get-together.

Mayberrily yours,

Paul Gilkes

Hellooooooooooo Dolllllllllllll,

Could whoever posted about the Mayberry Days celebration taking place in
Danville VA at the beginning of December please either repost it or email
the particulars to me. I might actually be able to get to that one, Lord
willing and the creek don't rise.

I caught the My 3 Sons marathon this weekend and saw Mr. Tucker(?) of the
What's Your Hurry episode play Bub's Irish cousin who still got sent to his
room for sassing his 103 year old mother.

I caught a commercial for TAGS tapes, called the number and got the
particulars.

Phone number is 1-800-257-1234
The first tape is 4.99 + an additional 3.99 shipping charge.
Every additional tape is 19.95 + shipping.
The tapes are 2 hours in length, 4 episodes on each tape(makes sense).

If you call, you have to specifically ask about the TAGS tapes as they use
this number to sell more than one product, and when the operator answered
the phone, all he said was "Hello, this is Mike," with no other means of
identification.

Hi,
I have lost the information about the upcoming show on Dec. 02 in Virginia.
Can anyone tell me the lineup and the ticket information (contact person) as
well as the location of the event?

Thanks,

Well, I just don't know what to say, after all the things everyone else has
had to post about the Anniversary event in Birmingham. Judge Joel Laird was
just the best to put this event on for all us TAGS nuts, and if I lived in
Alabama, he'd get MY vote, but since I don't, I guess I'll just have to give
him my verbal support. LOL It was just great getting to see all the stars,
as well as all my Mayberry friends. It sure was cold for this Florida boy,
but I stuck it out. I drove almost 600 miles for this, and I wasn't about to
quit on it. The stars sure made it worth the suffering. LOL Thanks again,
Judge, and thanks to Allan for saving Ernest T, and David Browning for doing
such great jobs on their impersonations of two GREAT actors. I don't know
what I'd do without all you wonderful Mayberry folks in my life.

                         Thanks,

Well, Allan, everyone is making a big molouge out of the save you made on
stage at the reunion. It was indeed outstanding! I heard Howard Morris on
"The Big Show" Monday morning and he credited you with saving his life. I
guess you know what that means...fresh fish for breakfast, enough firewood
for seven winters, a helper for cake-baking, free miscellaneous vehicle
parts, a clean squad car, etc. Maybe you'd better come up with a plan to save
Howard's life so you two will be even!
Seriously, Mr. Morris said something to the effect that he was surprised at
all us fans sitting out there in the freezing cold just to see the show. He
talked about how well he was treated here in my home state. But the funniest
thing he said was "I don't have Parkinson's (disease), I was just cold! I
have never been so cold in my life". So, THANKS, LIFESAVER MAN!! The show
wouldn't have been the same without him!

Hey,

Anyone know the name of the play in which Don Knotts and Tim Conway are
appearing, and exactly where it is? I've had some interest in it, perhaps
even attending myself...

Subject: Where Are My Posh Puffs?? (Re: "Mayberry Memories")

Hey To All,
I am out of town and was browsing through a bookstore (to which I get a
discount) and Land Sakes! What did I find??? "Mayberry Memories"...I am so
in awe, this is really a great book with a lot of work that went into it!
Good work Mr. Beck and Mr. Clark! I just bought it but from what I was
reading, it already hit the soft spot in my heart (which isn't hard lately)
and had me reaching for a posh puff with the memories of Frances Bavier.

I also want to say thank you very much Mr. Bullock for such great stories.
Your first is my very favorite! I was lucky to get it on tape during the
last TVLand marathon and it was episodes like "The Pickle Story" and "The
Loaded Goat" which helped me through the critical condition of my companion
cocker spaniel. All of the TAGS were and are a truly blessing but I believe
it was the laughter that has helped me through this period and now through my
grieving process from my loss of him two weeks ago today. I have read in
different places how much the TAGS series has meant to people but to still be
able to help some 40 years later, is certainly something to be very proud to
a part of. Thanks Harvey!

Well I would say back to the Pickle Stash but I am out of town visiting my
pain doctors. So guess I will hit the "Pickle Stash" tomorrow when I get
home.
