I mentioned a while back that one of my episodes of Buzz Lightyear of Star
Command had a Mayberry connection. Kind of a wink to our favorite small
town. Well, for anyone who cares to watch it, that episode is supposed to
air this Sunday morning (15th) on UPN. Here in California, the time is 10:30
- - but it may be different elsewhere. It's called "Strange Invasion."

Just doing my part in keeping Mayberry alive.

Hey To All,
I think this has something to do with the "Charlie's Angels" doin's over at
TVLand. I tuned in last night and this morning and all I have seen
everytime I try is of the Angels.

I have to say I miss tuning in to TAGS for my daily dosage, just as much as I
did when they were having that ultimate game show going. But.... TVLand
"DID" treat us to a 72 hour fandemonium weekend after the game show. It was
kind of like putting antiseptic on a booboo...it doesn't feel good at the
time but it gets better....

I expect our wonderful TAGS will be back and in place after the fandemonium
weekend (which I think is Charlie's Angels) on Monday. Can't say the Angels
are my cup of tea but patience IS a virtue.

Hey To All,
Just wanted to jot a note of "Thanks" to Allan. I was wondering if I had
somehow missed getting (GASP!) my Digest yesterday. Thanks for explaining
this to us Allan so that we can remain patient until the next issue comes (if
there is a slowdown again in posting).

Fer shame! Here I was just whining away to my friend, Gary and begging him
for a copy of his from yesterday! TeeHee!

Subject: Joel's car

Gee! I've known Joel for ten years and he's *never* let me drive his car,
or even play with the siren!  Of all the unmitigated
gall!!!

Well, Dixon, we have kept the squad car for a few days or so to keep it
close to have at certain events for Joel. Well, I talked about having it,
after all it is something special. When the nurses' at my ENT found out I
had it they all wanted to see it but all lived in different directions, so
I drove it to the doctor on my next visit. Well, I got caught, someone saw
me and told Joel they saw his squad car in Birmingham going down the
interstate with some woman driving it. We really got a laugh out of it but,
you know Joel he didn't care and he thought it was funny as well.  The
visit at the doctors off was the funny event. The nurses' went and got the
doctor, now there is a waiting room full of patients and he comes outside
and I took their picture in the car, thankfully the patients didn't get mad
at me. A lot of fun, people wave at you, one guy hollared at me and said
something about Barney and getting his bullet out of his pocket. It
definetely singles you out  so don't be somewhere your not suppose to be.

I carried the car to my cousin's church in B'ham when CNN news was filming
about the Mayberry Bible study and the guys are filming when we drive up
and the guy filming just made a complete circle and started filming the car
and forgot all about Bruce Burkhart walking down the road. The car was in
the part they showed on TV but only at a distance, still again a lot of
fun.

Happy motoring,
Nancy

Can someone tell me what you're talking about when you say Allan saved
Howard Morris (aka Ernest T.)?
Maybe I missed a digest when this was discussed.

Glad everyone had a good time!

Hey Mayberryites

I asked a question the other day...but it was buried in a long post...and in
the middle of lots of stuff about the big Joel Laird event.
Also, as I thought about it, I figured I should revise the question for
political correctness.

How many Fast Women AND Fast Men (whatever the case may be) visited
Mayberry and wanted to get married in a one-episode story? I already
mentioned Melissa, that scamming heartbreaker who wooed Barney into a Breach
of Promise suit. As I thought of a couple other ladies, it occurred to me
that there were a couple of fast but "swave" men also.

Now it don't count if someone just THOUGHT two people were gonna get
married, if they really were not (Barrrneyyyy)

Who are they?

p.s. Fast babies don't count either...why won't she take my finger?

I don't know where to begin looking. I have Aunt Bee's diningroom
table and sideboard that were sold at auction in Raleigh after her
death. I am interested in selling these because my diningroom is so
small. Do you know of any location where I could post these for sale?

 Thank you,

Mary

I would like to thank everyone that helped out with this event. Troy and I
were very lucky to get to be so involved in this event. We got to pick up
Betty Lynn, Maggie Petterson Mancuso, Barbara Perry, Marie Grace Canfield
and the Doug Dillard's band manager (name I forgot) from the airport (what
a thrill). And they were all so nice and sweet, and they could not believe
that there is still so many TAGS fans. I also got to be in the ladies
dressing room at Oak Mt. with all the cast members, and each and everyone
was very nice, at one time Elizabeth MacRae looked at me and said "I need a
hug", so she got a hug, but they were all very amazed at the fact that fans
from TAGS still supported them. We also were part of the security, so I
also got to drive a lot of them to the autograph signing then back to the
stage area (driving Whitney's van, in which I didn't know it was her's till
Ken JunKin told me) and of course my husband, Troy and Dean loved helping
the ladies from the dressing area to the stage, he and Dean "Creaster"
Colyar thought they were in heaven. Then we all would eat together at the
hotel, but the best part, is they are no different from us common
folks. It kinda makes knowing that when you watch them on TV, you can say
"hey, I've meet he/she and they're no different than us". I also would
like to add a very special thank you to Judge Laird for putting together
such a very special event. And a thank you to Rich (Whitney & Joel's son)
for holding the American flag on stage while I signed to the National
Anthem, that memory will be very special and dear to me forever. I know
some of the fans were put out with Howard Morris, but lets face it folks,
he's in is 80's and for the most part, he behaved, he didn't throw any
rocks, he came into a room quite, and he didn't chew his cabbage twice. And
it was great to see all our friends from MD in B'ahm, it was like having
two Christmas's, and you just don't get that very often. David and Alan you
too did a wonderful job, as always. Boy what a great 2 weeks this has been!!!

Jeff, you made me laugh right out loud. Ernest T. is probably right proud
to get that "rude", even if it wasn't from his mother figure. Perhaps the
lady should be glad she didn't get angry enough to slap his hand; he might
have been pounding on a pot outside her window before the night was over.

My theory...even mothers (and I am one, so I can say this) should understand
that not everyone wants a kiss from their darling sweet babies. I'd be
thankful to have been able to see him and get an "Ernest T. Bass" scribbled
on a rock what I picked up out'n the yard. Ya'll go easy on Howard...I'm a
might protective when it comes to my favorites.

;) Martha

I was unable to attend the Birmingham event, but I was
privileged to attend Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, NC. I
found everyone to be extremely nice and helpful, very
quick to answer questions, pose for pictures or pretty
much whatever was asked of them. Doug Dillard, Maggie
Petersen Mancusco and all the others whom I was able
to meet were very kind. I agree that maybe Mr. Morris
was having a bad day, or just staying in the character
of Ernest T. Bass. I think they are tremendously
gracious to sign autographs and sit in weather that is
not always so pleasant. I plan to attend every
Mayberry Event I am able to and enjoy each one. Lots
of Luck to You and Yours! Anita

I mentioned this a year or two ago but nobody responded - (maybe because it
wasn't all that interesting). BUT, if TVLand shows the Rimshaw house
episode around Halloween, look at the house next door - it looks alot like
the house
the guys fixed up for Frank Myers.
