A special note of thanks to Kathy Taylor for all her signing work during
Mayberry Days and the 40th Aniversary show in Birmingham. Kathy is a very
generous person and her signing at the events is appreciated by the hearing
impaired who attend. Surry Art is planning to get her more involved during
Mayberry Days 2001 to reach even more people, so we should all be proud of
Kathy.

It is just another reason why we all belong to a very special group of
people at WBMUTBB.

Hey to all of y'all in Mayberry,
I've been away from the digest for about a month now due to our recent
move from
Mississippi to Wisconsin, and I have to say....I've missed you all!!!!
I'm enjoying this cool
weather and beautiful trees but miss the southern hospitality and the
grits!! I sure am
glad to know I still have a residence in Mayberry with the best of
neighbors!!
Had to tell you all what my son said tonignt..... he said he was going
to raise some '
money at school...I asked how?? He said I'm going to sell a pen for
50.00!! How I asked.
He told me he was going to scuff it up so it would look old and tell the
kids it belonged to
President Kennedy!!!!! Before I could get another word out he said Andy
Taylor did
it with the town cannon!!!! Then he just busted up laughing!!! I told
him I may have to
have a few rootbeer floats like ole Barn did!!!
By the way does it seem like this Angel marathon is going on for an
eternity on TV land?? I miss TAGS!!!

Ya'll have a Mayberry day!!

This was the first time I had been to a Mayberry event. My daughter and I
attended the 40th anniversary Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy. We enjoyed
ourselves more than I can ever say!!! I am wondering if there is anyone
who attended this event that videotaped it and would be willing to make and
sell a copy. I would gladly pay for a copy as well as pay postage and
handling.

Hellooooo Dolllllll,
Here's my .02 worth of opinion regarding why Ernest T/Howard Morris wasn't
willing to kiss that little girl in one word:

Germs. Could you imagine what would become of their health if they kissed
everyone who asked them? Given that the fans are total strangers (although
we may consider him one of the family), he doesn't know who might have
what, and in this day and age that could be dangerous, especially with the
senior citizen set.

I worked at our local country station a few years back, and can verify that
for one, Clint Black won't kiss anyone or let them kiss him, even on the
cheek, because he doesn't want to risk his voice and his health.

It could be that Ernest T/Howard is only looking out for the best interest
of his health and maybe he stays in character because it is easier than
explaining why he says no.

It's Friday so I'm off to the Kit Kat Club with Skippy and Daphne.

<< I don't know where to begin looking. I have Aunt Bee's diningroom
table and sideboard that were sold at auction in Raleigh after her
death. I am interested in selling these because my diningroom is so
small. Do you know of any location where I could post these for sale? >>

Hey To All,
As a collector and an Aunt Bee lover, I have a couple of questions to pose.
a.) Are these two pieces of furniture "Aunt Bee's" from what we saw on set or
Frances Bavier's?
b.) I know Miss Bavier hasn't been with us for quite some time but is there
any kind of certificate of authenticity that this is who's furniture it came
or maybe a bill of sale from the people who ran the auction?
c.) How much has this furniture been used since the purchase at the auction
and how has the furniture preserved?

I know this is nitpicking but these are BIG questions to a collector
pondering the purchase of such items. I don't know if MaryMilks gets the
digest but I chose to post here (I haven't had the pleasure of meeting her
and don't know her) as this is a topic that concerns TAGS and I know there
are several collectors in our group. I gotta say it perked my ears up but
don't know that I have the room to put it in my dining room...I don't know
what the builder was thinking when he made the dining room of my house!

On a personal note, I know that auctions happen every day but isn't it kind
of sad to think that Miss Bavier's belongings were just put outside for
auction? Didn't she have any family anywhere down the family tree that these
treasures could have been passed along to? A niece? A nephew? A godchild?

Oh, I think I will go do an end of the week pickle inventory,
Where's my bucket with holes for my eyes to see through?

Let's see.......there was the couple who, as Floyd put it, "now they are
announcing their nuptials"....the manicurist who took Piere back... the new
doctor....Charlene and Dud, "Stop that wedding!"........the stranger who
knew everyone (but he only wanted to "call on", so I guess that doesn't
count).....Jeff Pruitt..... Briscoe Darling when he wooed Aunt Bee.....does
Andelina count if she can't talk?.....Hanna and Josh.....Frankie the fair
farm girl (but that idea was just put into her daddy's head by Andy)....and
of course we can't dismiss Rose, "even though she ran off and got
married".....just to name a few that come quickly to this chicken thief's
mind.

TAGS fans,

My oldest son (5) has recently become addicted to "The Incredible
Mister Limpet." I've watched it with him a couple times. One thing that
has struck me is that, considering his limited on-screen time, it was some
of Don Knotts' best acting work outside of TAGS. In many of his roles, he
is Barney by a different name. But Henry Limpet is eally quite far removed
from Barney (I think). I love most of Dan's roles, but watching Limpet
makes me wish he had had more opportunities to play roles that showed us
his different sides.

Let's email them and beg for the all-Andy-all-the-time channel we dream about!
On the TVLand website, they said that they would be returning to their regular
schedule, whatever that is for your area of the country, after the weeklong
Angelfest. So whether you live near Kelsey's woods, Kelsey's crick, or Kelsey's
ocean, be ready for your TAGS to come back soon!
