I'm a TAGS fan from WAAAAAAY yonder back a'ways. I know there are lots of
inconsistencies in Mayberry. Like the year Andy graduated from high school
and then in another episode he was in WWII. Except for them being in school
together, was any mention ever made of Barney & Andy's age. Was one older or
were they both the sameage?

I don't how far along in the conversation I am but I remember when Francis
died and I read in the paper they were auctioning off her personal
belongings. I read that her yard rake sold for like 25 cents and the
belongings were almost given away.
Sure wish I had been there.

Dear Fellow Andy Griffith Show Lovers......

Has anyone considered the effect we might be able to have if we started a
"polite" write-in program to TV-Land about the limited showing of our
favorite show now that they have most of the rights to showing it?

There are a lot of us. Perhaps the TV-Land folks would listen if enough of
us spoke up. I AM HAVING "WITHDRAWAL" from not being able to watch Andy
enough!

I wrote them yesterday. You can go to "www.tvland.com" and click on the
"WRITE US" button. What does everyone (anyone) think about such a campaign?
Would it violate any chapter WBMUTBB rules or anything like that?

Thanks for listening....

Greetings,
Having seen the message about the sale of Ms. Baviers dinning set as I recall
there was an article in the Detroit Free Press about her passing written by
by Mr. Tim Kiska as was reading it he seemed quite fond of her and TAGS in
the article he stated that her estate was to be auctioned and proceeds to the
local animal shelter as she was a cat lover and had several of them. In the
article it was stated that her grandchildren were to do that at her request.
I will be sending an email to Mr. Kiska to see if he can send me the article
as I will relay here because I would think there should be some form of
authencity those items.

Having been reading about Mayberry reunion sounds everyone had a GREAT time
hopefully I will be able to attend next year and really do enjoy my daily
reading of the DIGEST.

>>> I know that auctions happen every day but isn't it kind of sad to think
that Miss Bavier's belongings were just put outside for auction? Didn't she
have any family anywhere down the family tree that these treasures could
have been passed along to? A niece? A nephew? A godchild?

As far as I've ever been able to determine, Frances Bavier had no living
relatives at the time of her death (December 6, 1989, in Siler City, NC).
She was married, very briefly, when she was a young woman, but never had any
kids. She left most of her money to Siler City organizations like the
police and fire departments and the ambulance service (I've got a copy of
her Last Will and Testament around here someplace -- probably in the box
with my red-white-and-blue sleeve garter and genu-wine whalebone napkin
ring).

She had 15 cats at the time of her death, and they were all adopted very
quickly by Siler City residents. Wouldn't it be great to have one of Aunt
Bee's cats? Perhaps some of those cats are still alive today.

As far as the dining room furniture goes, I don't know the woman who is
offering those items, but it is true that a large part of Frances' estate
was sold at auction on June 2, 1990, at the University of North Carolina.
The proceeds were dontated to North Carolina Public Television.

Subject: mayberry show in danville correction

hey folks! we have a correction on one of the phone numbers i gave for
ticketmaster. the 2nd number i gave(757-262-8100) should really be
804-262-810. ticketmaster made several mistakes including not having the
show even in their system when we checked saturday morning. when they did
putit in they put the show as being in richmond. the promoters contacted
them and everything is supposed to be straight now. (ticketmaster said they
had never done tickets for anything in danville and they had to set up a
code for danville. this is good in a way because it means this really is the
biggest thing to ever come to danville!) anyway i apologize for any
inconvenience anyone may have had if they tried to buy tickets on saturday
and hope there will be no problems when they go on sale sunday. if there is,
please bear with us and we'll get it right. these kind of glitches will
happen when something this big is coming together but in the long run it
will definitely be worth while! tim hutcherson
