Today, I watched an almost un-cut version on a local station, and after Andy tells Ellie that they had better go, Frankie's daddy turns to her and NOT only tells her she had work to do...wood to cut, BUT...........it actually showed her at a pile of wood and she had a big cross-cut saw (like lumberjacks use) and it showed her sawing up those logs by her self!!!! Also, it showed her daddy in a little bit better light; when Ellie and Andy told her daddy about how pretty Frankie looked, etc., her daddy actually showed concern and remorse that he just could not let her stay that way, and he acted like he KNEW she was pretty all fixed up; he explained a little bit more about why she had to be doing the work because he did not have sons, etc. The parts that had always been clipped out were the parts that showed him in a better light; now, I don't think of him as so mean as before. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Nov 2000 23:46:52 -0800 (PST) From: keb carter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: wbmutbb-digest V2 #379 What an interesting sequence of thought it is to include the venerable likes of Don Novello in a virtual-Mayberry way! Straight away, and going only by present recollection of the two men, I'm guessing the only thing relative about them is wistful thinking, but I'd like to be proved wrong. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? It is the Andy Griffith Show Special Edition with 8 episodes : Class Reunion, Opie and the Spoiled Kid, Aunt Bee's Medicine Man, Andy's English Valet, Rafe Hollister Sings, Andy Discovers America, The Darlings are Coming and Mountain Wedding. Quality is extry good. Also included are additional "music videos", recipes from Aunt Bee, Mayberry Tidbits, a Mayberry Art gallery and a biography of ole Ange. All in all a good purchase ($10 on Ebay) Put out by Sterling Entertainment Group ISBN 0-7694-0840-0. Opening music is not correct, but I think episodes are very complete and seem to include all epilogues. (AIT)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: it's coming...soon Did you ever wish that one of the TV Networks would find an episode of the Griffith show that you've never seen in a film vault somewhere? You love the 249 that you have on tape, but would love to see a new adventure of Andy and Barney and all the gang? Well, that's probably not gonna happen. I'd love it if it did though. That wish though was my motivation a few years back to start writing some stories myself. I have put some mini-scripts in the Digest at times. Then, when I wrote my first "full-length" story, (New Stranger in Town), I put it in the Digest a little bit at a time. Now, that Allan Newsome, he's a smart guy, and he asked me for a copy of the whole story to posts on the WBMUTBB website. So I did, and He did. Then about this time last year, I wrote a Christmas episode (because I loved the real one so much, I thought there should be another one) and we did the same thing, (An Unforgettable Christmas) and posted in on the Fan Fiction link. Earlier this year, I tackled the void of details of Opie's mother and turned that into another full-length story. (Favorite Story Never Told) and these are all out there on TAGSRWC under (you guessed it) Fan Fiction. About a month or so ago, I got the inspiration for another "lost episode" as I like to call them. There is a sport that was never shown in Mayberry, and I thought it should have been...so..thinkin' bucket on my head, back to the keyboard I went...pretending I was Harvey Bullock or somebody. (I've always been a Harvey Wannabe. I did steal/borrow one of his ideas that he mentioned right here in this Digest). I mentioned this story earlier, and that it might be out by Christmas, but its gonna be earlier than that. You're gonna see it in the next week or two. The final touches are bein' put on it right now. I'd love to meet with the producers, or sit around that big table with Andy and Don to discuss it....but I'll just have to settle for spell-checkin, and making sure I got enough verbs and correct pronouns and all that stuff. Stay tuned to the Digest for more info. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Nov 2000 20:19:46 -0600 From: "Linda Poindexter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Quotes Hi! Is there a list of TAGS quotes? I do unit meeting minutes at work, and before each topic, I use a quote from somewhere to put a humorous and/or moral touch too the upcoming topic. For instance, last month, the topic was "Hot Topics" - so I used "There is a large disturbance in the Force" from Star Wars. I was thinking, quotes from TAGS would really be cool. Any suggestions? Hope this message goes through. I've been having trouble with my computer lately. Must be that "Force" thing again. :) ------------------------------ End of wbmutbb-digest V2 #383 ***************************** ************************************************** ~ Visit our sponsor ~ Weaver's Department Store ~ http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/ ************************************************** You must send your comments to the Digest from the address you used to join WBMUTBB or your message will not be posted.
