My vote for the second greatest show of all time would be the Honeymooners.

That was a lovely Thanksgiving poem, something to read every day.
Incidently, last night on Hogan's Heros on TVL, Otis appeared as a German
civilian with a heavy accent. Our boys get around. Probably sampling that
good German lager. Also, last week I noticed Barney coffee mugs and T-shirts
on sale at a local flea market. She hopes to have more of Maybery stuff -
will watch. I have seen the Mayberry High School jacket and it is gorgeous!
 Hugs to all, Mrs. Darling

Good question...but to tell you the truth, I have NEVER watched a tv show
that even comes close to "TAGS". So I guess after I leave Mayberry, I just go
back to Mayberry. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the old sitcoms: "I
Love Lucy", "The Real McCoys", "The Dick Van Dyke Show" to name just a few.
But none of those is even in the same universe!! "TAGS" is in a class by
itself and there are no comparisions as far as I can see. But I'm glad you
asked!

I can't believe it- I saw an episode of TAGS I hadn't seem before. It was when
there is a cattle thief, and Andy solves the crime by realizing that the thief
has put shoes on the cow so it looks like there are 3 crooks, not one. What
happens between Andy and Barney is touching: Barney walks off and takes the
mayor's side, but then comes back because of his loyaltty to Ange. the hurt
look on Andy's face is one we don't often see. This was on Nick at Night- thanks
to them for at least dong two episodes a week, even though they are late at
night. It's hard when our cable provider doesn't offer TV Land.

Next to TAGS the best show of all times is Gunsmoke :)

Hey All,
"Just wanted to say Happy Holidays to you and yours!
The digest sure has been slow lately,I guess maybe
everyone is busy getting ready for Christmas. Just
remember the most important thing is to "Relax, Slow
down, Take it easy...WHATS YOUR HURRY??? What indeed
my friends is your hurry?"
Hey has anyone ever noticed how Barney kinda likes to
"accidentally" take a little nip every now and then ?
The episodes/times that come to mind(in no particular
order) are...A)when the Govner comes to visit 2)Mrs
Mendelbright D)when he trys to extract information
from Otis And 5)the time the boys gave him some
Mulberry squezzins. Now far be it from me to spread
gossip about our favorite Deputy Barney Fife but can
anyone else think of any more "coincidents" ?

I'm no good Andy...I'm no good :)

Another example of a reused plot is when Barney was singing in the choir. The
choir began to have secret rehearsals without telling Barney because his
singing was so bad. A similar story happened on Gomer Pyle except it was Sgt.
Carter who sang off-key.

AND TAKE THAT GUN OUTTA YOUR MOUTH!

Who's number 2? That'd be like sayin' who's your
second favorite wife? Who's your second favorite only
child? When you've got TAGS as #1, nothing else
compares.

On a different story, me & Annabelle (my wife) went to
Gatlinburg, TN this weekend to see all the lights and
Christmas shop & all and had a blast. It was
beautiful down there. We met a lady who had family in
Mt. Airy. Also, while we were in a candy shop, we got
to share some Mayberry Days experiences with a lady
who just got back from a visit to Mt. Airy a couple of
months ago. She said her son owned a record shop in
Gatlinburg, and in it he sold alot of Mayberry stuff.
We stopped by, and he had quite a few things
displayed. Even had his windows that were facing the
streets covered with Barney posters, afghans, and
other stuff. You'd just about never known it was a
record shop from the street.

that means and Otis replies, "That's how my mouth feels."

I like the "repent" theory, but what Otis actually says is,
"shoobie-shoobie-shoobie," not "shubum, shubum, shubum."
