Forgive me for repeating a topic, but I just can't help it...........My
daughter is hooked on Rudolph (the red-nosed reindeer) and I can't help but
notice how the tall elf with the glasses looks just like John Masters on
TAGS. We discussed this once before - I think Paul brought it up sometime
ago.........Sorry to repeat, but haven't seen ole "Rudy" in a long
time....Has anyone else noticed the similiar looks between John and the elf?

I don't remember the second episode you mention - Jack N. being the father
of an abandoned baby. Is it possible I've actually missed an episode? Say
it isn't so!

Please elaborate!

Hi Folks,

This may be a stupid question, but who is Barbara Perry? What character did
she play? Happy Holidays to all. I hope they
show the Christmas show soon.

Clint played Dennis Weaver's son Mark Wedoe on "Gentle Ben" from
1967-69. Clint had guest parts on practically all the westerns of the
time- Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Virginian, & Laredo. He was on the Fugitive
and the Streets of San Fransico. Clint had a re-occurrng role as David,
a neighbor on "Please Don't Eat the Daisies". He was a big bully on
"Family Affair" but his most memorable role (to me) was when he played a
strange little space alien named Balok on "Star Trek" who held the
Enterprise in terror with the aid of an ominous looking decoy-alien. Did
I miss any? I'm sure some one knows more childhood roles.

Hey Everybody,

Clint Howard played on the show "Gentle Ben" which was about a boy (Clint
Howard) and his pet bear. Also, I seen Clint Howard on a recent movie called
"My Dog Skip" which is a must see. Clint Howard was a bad guy who had a
partner that was hiding moonshine in a graveyard mosoleum. I hope this
answers the questions about Clint Howard. He may have been on more shows
that I am not aware of and it is always a pleasure to once again visit
Mayberry.

God Bless,

Hey folks,

I can't afford to send you all the "homemade" Christmas card that Jan and I
try and make each year but I do want to wish you all a VERY Mayberry
Christmas and I hope you'll enjoy the "online" version of our card. Be
careful, there's music.....

If that link messed up, just head to the front page of TAGSRWC's web site and
you'll see a link to it just above Barney Santa's head.

Season's Greetings to all my fellow Mayberrites!
(or is that Mayberrians?)
Any, my wife and I were watching an old TAGS tape
and I got to see one of my favorite episodes-
you know the one- where the boys in the band
want to go to Raleigh, but the mayor says they're not
good enough. Anyway, Barney wants to be in the
band, so he gets a pair of cymbals, and WATCH OUT!
Well, that got me to thinking. Of all the props Barney
has used in his hilarious hijinks, which was my favorite?
In my mind, the over-sized cymbals even beat out
the kerosene cucumbers.
What do you think?

WOW, what a time, I believe Tim said it best when I up there in Danville
with him,
"I think I've Died and Gone to Mayberry"
Folks it was a great HONOR to be invited to help out with the show.
I will never be the same (By the way I'm not what you call normal to start
with)
I was very privileged to take Betty Lynn to dinner Friday night in the old
squad car.
Yes Folks you heard it right Thelma Lou rode in the back seat of my squad
car,
and that ain't all, after rehearsal Sat. afternoon, Ronnie Schell "Duke
Slater" Jean Carson "Daphne"
and Betty Lynn "Thelma Lou" rode back to the Hotel in the back of the
squad car.
But it didn't end there, They all signed the dash board to commemorate the
occasion.

"Now read my first 2 sentences again"
It didn't stop there folks, then the show happened,
"First 2 sentences again"
During my travels and dinner conversations with the stars, I did find out
answers to a few gnawing questions
like do the stars actually watch the re runs. "Are you ready for this?"
YES they watch them when the shows are on.
Ronnie Schell said he doesn't remember some of the scenes he was in, and
when he sees
them it's like wow I don't remember that, and almost like new shows to him.
The others agreed.
These were the kindest people to all involved with them, and they never
complained.
Maggie and Gus were also wonderful people to be around.
Gus said he enjoys seeing Maggie at these shows because of the love the fans
show her
and she gets to relive her 15 minutes of fame again and again then she goes
home and
takes out the trash like any other ordinary person.
Tony also got his 62 squad car rode in and autographed.
well enough of my bragging for now

Phil "Ain't we lucky to be living in such a friendly town" Fox

By the way if anyone saw the Hallmark movie tonight "The Runaway" with Dean
Cain
that was me helping him dig up the bones, and eating in the diner, and
helping
Sonny Shroyer "Enos from the Dukes" carry out his brother's body.

I agree w/ Sandi, Andy does always seem irritable in the color episodes.
In interviews, I've
heard andy say that after Don Knotts left, his heart wasn't in the show.
He would sometimes
go to work without knowing his lines, etc. Maybe this was shown through
his character...

Hey Mayberry readers. Are you ready for a new adventure with Andy, Barney,
Opie, Aunt Bee and all the gang? There's a new episode ready for your
enjoyment. Don't have TVland?...Don't worry. Everyone on this mailing list
has access to this "show" because it's a readable script on the internet.
You can go read it online, or download a copy to print out (in HTML.).
Don't go there now, if you've just got a couple minutes because you won't
get through all 7 scenes. Its a little over 10 pages but includes lots of
whitespace in dialogue format. This latest in the line of...things I would
have liked to have seen in Mayberry...features a story about Basketball.
It's called Basketball Regional or Bust. In this story, Barney is up to his
usual antics, and Goober is a hoot as well. You'll meet some new Mayberry
folks, including some new heroes, and read about a few new "sets" in the
town. Watch for some familiar techniques used by the "real" TAGS writers.
Also, be on the lookout for a few surprises and some familiar names. I hope
you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. Let me know what you
think.

Thanks to Allan for posting on the TAGSRWC website. You can go straight to
this story from this link.

http://mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/anewsome/private/fanfiction.htm

or go to the familiar TAGSRWC site at http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/ and
find the "Fan Fiction" link just to the right and below Santa Fife's
picture.

TAGS fans,

On our Thanksgiving trip from Denver to Houston, I was reading "The
Hobbit" during my wife's turns to drive. At one stretch, every time I
would pick it up and start to read, one of our boys would ask for
something. So I'd put the book down, tend to their need/want, then pick up
the book again. This went on for several tries with me only ready about a
paragraph. Finally, as I picked it up for about the fifth time, I said out
loud, as if reading, "It was the very witchin' time of the night when
Ichabod, weary and crestfallen . . . " My wife knew exactly what I meant
and started laughing.
OK, so the question now is: how many of you know what I'm talking
about? (I know Paul does.)

The Love interest I found the most beleivable was the pretty blonde nurse -
Miss Peggy. She sang, like Andy. They both loved Opie and she was far less
tempremental than Helen.
>>>

Peggy is a wonderful singer, but so is Helen. She sings in the choir (in
later years), and she also renders a beautiful solo in "A Baby in the
House." What a contralto!

Most of his work has been in movies or as one-shot TV roles, but he's best
known as the star of "Gentle Ben" (1967-1969). He also did some Disney
voiceovers (most notably Roo in the earliest Winnie the Pooh films, and the
little elephant in The Jungle Book)

I'm sorry Allan if I've broken any rules! I'll try to keep my mouth shut
