Subject: Miss Poovey Hits the Big Times
I caught our talented Miss Poovey over at AMC starring with Gene Hackman
in the movie, "The Conversation" last night. She was just as pretty as
ever and quite the flirt. But one thing was surprising. Sometimes she had
that delicious southern accent and sometimes she didn't. However, this
could have been explained when she told Harry (Mr. Hackman) that as a child
she enjoyed banging her head against the wall and often had to fight the
urge to do so as an adult as she still felt it a comforting action.
Hopefully, our Gomer is more than enough comfort to her now.
If not, I have a helmet she can borrow.
Oh, and by the way: When does Andy come on? I haven't been able to find my
beloved show since coming home (and the hospital didn't have TVLand,
wouldn't you just know!)? I'm in desperate desperation here!!!!!
Laura Lee Hobbs, back road gold truck watcher extraordinaire
Dr. Benson: Take a deep breath, please. Uh, go ahead and take a deep breath.
Barney: I did.

Subject: Barbara Perry update & a note to Jeff Krentz
Hello all, I hope all our TAGS friends had a very blessed & Merry
Christmas. I just want to let everyone know that Ms. Perry is home and
doing well, she has been overwhelmed with all the cards and gifts from all
of you good folks. She wanted me to let you all know that she will try to
answer all those who have sent her something, but she said it may take her
a while, so she asked me to "tell all you precious people from TAGS, thank
you so much for thinking of her & for the prayers". Again thank you all.
Jeff Krentz, this note is epically for you, I know the pain of losing your
father, my father died 14 years ago, and to this day, not a day that goes
by I don't think of him. I was the oldest of 4 children, but yet I was his
baby. The pain will never go away, but you know in your heart that some
day you will see him again, and always keep him in your heart, that way he
will always be there for you. I too had to deal with all the arrangements
and my heart and prayers goes out to you and your family. May God Bless
you at this time of sorrow.

Jeff,
I hurt with you for a very special reason. All day on Wednesday,
it's been on my mind. It was on that day, December 27, in 1983
that my dad died.

Hey all and Happy New Year!
Does anyone know of any Andy marathons that will be taking place on
TV? Good old TBS used to run the shows during the Super Bowl, but we
know that isn't happening anymore. Wonder if TV Land is planning
anything for us??? Anyone have a clue?
Thanks and Lot of Luck to you and
yours,

Thanks to everybody who wrote to me about the recent loss of my father. I
didn't expect all of the personal notes and was not sure what I was doing ,
but I was really to express what was in my heart at the time. You are a
great bunch of folks and I'm sure that if worst came to worst and if I was
ever trapped in a cave you'd do just like Barney did.
I appreciate it

Subject: The Book
Wow never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would read a book.
Now I know that my first sentence let's the cat out of the bag, and your
right to think so, Phil is not the brightest bulb in the box. cause he don't
care for reading.
Now let me clarify this, I am basically lazy and would rather watch it on TV
or listen to it on cassette tape in the old work van. (OOPS, sorry Allan for
the four letter word. WORK) but anyway without promoting or even mentioning
it, my mother saw Jim and Ken's newest book Mayberry Memories wilst Christmas
shopping at Sam's Club, ( one of those stores that charge you admission for
the to right to relieve you of more of your money , one of my pet peeves), a
division of Walmart. Sorry for chasing rabbits folks, but my mind tends to
wander, (I wonder what causes that)
So my mom not knowing it was the latest greatest book published thought, I
know somebody that might like one of these, and low and behold I opened it on
that blessed Eve, and WOW what a book, after It was passed around, I finally
got back and that piece of paper I got from high school that says I know the
boundaries of the United States, a little math, and few other things finally
paid off, I have something that I WANT to read, although it's slow going,
cause I have to look and study the great pictures and captions. Great Job
Ken and Jim, Thanks.
Sorry to hear of Jeff's father passing.
It's great to hear from Deborah (and Laura Lee) may you speed back to health
I have to admit I did read the Fan fiction - "An unforgettable Christmas"
last year
before I knew that it was never a real episode, and was trying to find that
episode,
because it read just as if it were already on film. Either Joe is that great
a writer
or I have that good of a Mayberry Imagination. ( I'll bet on Joe) Keep up the
good work Joe
Here's my new years resolution:
Spread a Little sunshine everyday, help someone along life's way, and spread
a little sunshine everyday.
Happy New Year
Phil (And no I ain't had none of the Morrison Sisters Elixir, for special
occasions only) Yet!!!

NOTE FROM ALLAN: To keep from having to go to Sam's Club and pay due,
remember that you can get your copy of Mayberry Memories right from Mr.
Weaver himself over at Weaver's Dept. Store here online.

That would be the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary on Indian Rocks Beach, right
here nestled between Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach. It's a
wonderfully staffed organization that will take in virtually any bird, big
or small, any type of injury. Unfortunately the neighbors don't see it as
wonderful. The fact that so many birds are congregated in one area, they
attract healthy birds from all around. So the neighbors in their
multi-million dollar condos, townhouses and such are complaining about
droppings, squawks, and overhead swarmings. Most of the staff work
voluntarily or for little pay as it is managed strictly from donations. Dr.
Heath is Opie the Birdman of Pinellas County! Bless his little ole pea
pickin' Mayberry heart!
If anyone heard about the famous eaglet that was felled from its nest here
by some interloper, he is alive and well and back in the wild. During some
construction of a major road in this area about 10 years ago an eagle's nest
was discovered. The construction stopped to allow the egg to hatch, but
before it could an interloper chopped down the tree. Probably mad cause
someone took his bicycle away from him. Fortunately he didn't stick around
to find the nest and make sure the egg was destroyed. Someone from the
sanctuary found the nest and the egg was saved. It was incubated by the
Audobon Society until the baby eaglet hatched and grew to survive on its
own. He was brought back to the area of the felled tree and released. Just
like Wynken, Blynken and Nod he did alright and the trees are nice and full
again!
Another happy ending,
Harriet

Subject: Ben's Harmony
I saw the Christmas show a couple of times the past few days and
I had never noticed this before but when Ben is singing in the cell
window, he's singing harmony to Ellie's melody. The question I have
for you John Master's types (this is not a trivia question) - what
harmony is he singing? I know 5th's and 7th's but what is he singing
- - maybe a 3rd or something in a different octave???
