I've never been but I'm bound and determined to go this year. My question is this: how soon should I think about trying to get tickets (btw, when do they go on sale?) and motel reservations (I'm figuring on paying for one room and hauling the rest of my crew up on a rope when the desk clerk is gone to supper)? I know its still a long time until Mayberry Days 2001 but I figure its never too early to plan for something this big. Big? Big's not the word for it. Anyway, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Doug Johnson "Just a bed and a bible. No connection to Mayberry was there? And what about RFD, I would love to see Helen and Andy get married. Was Barney the best man? Please dont tell me it was Howard. The New Andy Griffith Show started in January of 1971 as a replacement and didn't fare much better. It ran all of its thirteen filmed episodes and was rerun in the summer but did not get renewed. And my advice to others....unless you feel you must absoulutly have a Andy on dvd right now, I'd wait until all the copyright mubo jumbo gets situated concerning the theme song. At the begining of every episode (which are good ones by the way), there is a very odd sounding and actually downright terrible theme song, thats...well i guess it's trying it's best to sound like the orignial one. I dont know why they didnt just leave the intro out all together if they had to do that. But anyways...like I said...until they can get the real TAGS song....it just doesnt feel like Mayberry. later mike "I'd like to see him make me eat breakfast. Does anybody remember that? >> That one actually came before TNAGS. In fact, "The Headmaster"'s failure is what inspired TNAGS, the idea of putting Andy back in a small town setting comedy setting. Sadly, Andy had a couple more failures down the line...the two-episode-then-cancelled "Adams of Eagle Lake" on ABC and the sci-fi "Salvage One" which is still very fondly remembered. But boy he made up for it all with "Matlock." BTW I heard "The Headmaster" had a really cool theme song sung by Linda Ronstadt... Hi to everyone, hope the year is off to a good start for you. I'm here today with a question.......................a few days ago in the episode in which Helen published her children's book it was mentioned that Helen and Andy were engaged. I've been pretty faithful in watching TAGS but I don't remember an episode in which Andy proposed. Is there one or did I miss something? Is that something like the last episode with Barney - it happened but no one saw it? The best to you and yours. In the episode where Aunt Bee buys the car from Goober, she backs it into a tree and dents the right rear fender - and it was obviously a real dent. Then, in the episode where Andy drives the car to the father-son get together, the dent is still there. I had wondered if the episodes were filmed so close to the same time that maybe they didn't have time to fix the dent??? Does anyone have any insight into this? - -Charlie (taters!) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ End of wbmutbb-digest V3 #22 **************************** ************************************************** ~ Visit our sponsor ~ Weaver's Department Store ~ http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/ ************************************************** You must send your comments to the Digest from the address you used to join WBMUTBB or your message will not be posted.
