Have seen several links on the Web for CD/Song called "Barney Fife Boogie".
Looks like the site is no longer active.

Would anyone have downloaded this song and be able to provide a little
information about it? Would love to hear it if anyone can send it to me as
an email attachment a [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hey all,
I've got a question for all you Mayberry Days veterans out there. I've
never been but I'm bound and determined to go this year. My question is
this: how soon should I think about trying to get tickets (btw, when do
they go on sale?) and motel reservations (I'm figuring on paying for one
room and hauling the rest of my crew up on a rope when the desk clerk is
gone to supper)? I know its still a long time until Mayberry Days 2001 but
I figure its never too early to plan for something this big. Big? Big's not
the word for it. Anyway, any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Doug Johnson

Hey,

To the poster who said he had the first three episodes of "The New Andy
Griffith Show" on tape, what were they about? No connection to Mayberry was
there?

And what about RFD, I would love to see Helen and Andy get married. Was
Barney the best man? Please dont tell me it was Howard.

You've got it backwards. The Headmaster started in the fall of 1970 and was
canceled in November of 1970. The New Andy Griffith Show started in January
of 1971 as a replacement and didn't fare much better. It ran all of its
thirteen filmed episodes and was rerun in the summer but did not get renewed.

Well folks,
I just recieved my "Best of The Andy Griffith Show" DVD in the mail from
Amazon.com the other day. And my advice to others....unless you feel you
must absoulutly have a Andy on dvd right now, I'd wait until all the
copyright mubo jumbo gets situated concerning the theme song.
At the begining of every episode (which are good ones by the way), there is a
very odd sounding and actually downright terrible theme song, thats...well i
guess it's
trying it's best to sound like the orignial one. I dont know why they didnt
just leave the intro out all together if they had to do that.
But anyways...like I said...until they can get the real TAGS song....it just
doesnt feel like Mayberry.

That one actually came before TNAGS. In fact, "The Headmaster"'s failure is
what inspired TNAGS, the idea of putting Andy back in a small town setting
comedy setting. Sadly, Andy had a couple more failures down the line...the
two-episode-then-cancelled "Adams of Eagle Lake" on ABC and the sci-fi
"Salvage One" which is still very fondly remembered. But boy he made up for
it all with "Matlock."

BTW I heard "The Headmaster" had a really cool theme song sung by Linda
Ronstadt...

Now I'll drive, so I'll be in the front seat. Thelma Lou, you're next to the
driver and Andy, you're next to Thelma Lou and the driver.
Then Opie in the back seat, behind Barn, then Gomer, then Aunt Bee. Then
Gomer worries aloud about getting car sick, so he has Opie and Gomer change
places. Anyway I think that's right. Myra Koontz

Seating arrangement in "Barney's Car"

Front: Barney's Driving, Thelmalou in the middle, Andy
riding shotgun
Back: Gomer by the window (behind Andy) Opie in the
middle, Aunt Bee by window (behind Barney)

I think Gomer was in the middle at first, but due to
car sickness was moved to a window seat.

In the back was Gomer, Opie, and Aunt Bee in the front he says Now I'll
drive and Thelma Lou will sit by the Driver and Andy. Then as they start to
take off Gomer says I'll get car sick so Barney has him and Opie switch
places.
So do I get a free jar of Aunt Bee's kerosene cucumbers I just love em

Can anyone tell me any more songs that Otis sung when
he was "gassed?" I believe Otis and Barney did a duet
of Sweet Adeline. Barney was trying to get some
information out of Otis, took a few swigs of liquor
and had an immediate liver reaction.

If my memory serves me correctly I believe Andy drove
Aunt Bee's convertible to Mt. Pilot to visit with
Opie's friends fathers, or was it to meet with the
lawyer Lee Drake, remember he got an awful
sunburn????Also there was a time Andy was seen getting
out of Aunt Bee's convertible and a valet was looking
at the car as if it were really weird. Had that
bucket on my head and I was thankan' and thankan!!!!! Anita

Well, this isn't exactly a real song, but when Barney was in jail on "Citizen's
Arrest", Otis banged on the bars of the cell, said, "Do you know what that
means?" Then he sang, "Barney's in jail, Barney's in jail." Not a song, but
hilarious, just the same!

Hi to everyone, hope the year is off to a good start for you.
I'm here today with a question.......................a few days ago in the
episode in which Helen published her children's book it was mentioned that
Helen and Andy were engaged. I've been pretty faithful in watching TAGS but I
don't remember an episode in which Andy proposed. Is there one or did I miss
something? Is that something like the last episode with Barney - it happened
but no one saw it?
The best to you and yours.

Janet said; "Gomer mentions that they're having a boiled

have a fire department."

Well we know they have a fire house anyway. I don't recall
ever seeing a fireman in any episode.

What I want to know is, what the heck is a "boiled dinner"?

Subject: dent in the car

With so many of you talking about Andy driving, it reminded me of
something I noticed a while back. In the episode where Aunt Bee
buys the car from Goober, she backs it into a tree and dents the
right rear fender - and it was obviously a real dent. Then, in the
episode where Andy drives the car to the father-son get together,
the dent is still there. I had wondered if the episodes were filmed
so close to the same time that maybe they didn't have time to fix
the dent??? Does anyone have any insight into this?
