particular term?

I believe the Uplifters were a missionary group who worked with
poverty-stricken families in The South around the time of the Civil War. In
the above context, though, Andy was probably referring to a local charitable
organization, perhaps a group similar to the Salvation Army or Goodwill.

On another note--I was watching the episode about the Hollywood
producer last night and I noticed the Mayor's daughter-Juanita- I sure hope
that's not the same Juanita at the diner that Barney was crazy about >>

i always thought that the mayor's daughter in that episode also played the
hilarious role of "Lydia"....

Remember the episode when the county nurse was trying to get (was it Rafe
Hollister) to take his shot? I was just wondering if the song that Andy
sang to him in the jail is a real song. That one makes me cry, But I'll
fight it.

Good one Lisa.

I've been studyin' on that a bit myself and would have to agree with you.

I've got a 15 year old boy myself. It is amazing how much smarter he has
gotten and how dumb I must be these days, if you listen to him tell it.

He's got his mother and I on such an edge most days that it doesn't take
much to put us in snap mode too.

Subject: Floyd Feldman?

>>>Floyd Feldman??? Sorry, Paul, but I gotta disagree. It makes more sense
that he would have used the Colby surname, since that's what Floyd put on
his barbershop window in that episode....>>>

Rafe, I'm not suggesting that Floyd's last name was Feldman in the script,
but to my ears, it definitely sounds like Mr. Harmon ADDRESSES Floyd as Mr.
Feldman. I don't have a script for this episode, but even if we had one, it
might say "Colby" or
it might not. Last minute changes were always being made, and of course as
you suggested, it's very possible that the actor may simply have flubbed his
line.

Those of you who have this episode on tape, watch the scene with your eyes
closed, and see what you think. It comes right after Andy jokes about
Floyd being a "great cat barber." Those of you who taped this episode off
of TVLand last night are out of luck, because the entire scene was omitted.

Hi Becky, Horatio (Kevin) here. The Mayor's daughter looked like noneother
than Litia Crosswaiht. You know the girl that Barney set up Andy with and
later became Goobers first date. Litia hated everything. Don't like to
chit-chat, don't like the outdoors, hate's guitar music. Later her Father
hated his job, said she could bowl, but she'd be in traction for a week.
Just thought I'd pass along that info.

Goober tell her to quit hanging her head out the window like a dog!

Jason is on the ball, I thought the same thing when I saw the episode where
Andy and Opie were gonna push Barney's car in front of the fire hydrant.,

and just tonight while watching the episode where Andy sells the old cannon,
I picked up on Barney having his own house (Not living at Mrs.
Brendlemight's boarding house)
sorry for the slip there, I stoped by the Morrison sister's to pick up
somrthin for national potatoe week.
Andy said the cannon would look great in front of Barn's house, and Barn
said, "and have
people stopping in his front yard and looking at the cannon all the time, no
thanks"

Hey all,

Some folks have been posting recently regarding the "Sermon for Today"
episode. This is one of my all time favorite episodes. Its chock full of
laughs right from the get go. And the whole episode has that "Mayberry"
feel that I love so much. I liked Crystal M.'s comment about the title of
the sermon already being on the sign outside the church. I had often
wondered about this myself. And another strange thing about the sermon
delivered by the visiting preacher: as far as I can tell, he never quotes
scripture or even opens his bible during his sermon. Still, what an episode.
And I haven't even mentioned Barney, Gomer, and them spiders.

BTW, is this the first episode "Cousin Goober" is mentioned in?

enjoyed it for awhile. too many rules, but
i'm sure they are necessary. Color episodes
are pitiful as Andy becomes a gutless sissy.
aunt bea has always been a annoying bothersome
old bitty, and opie is a little nerd.

Greetings from snowy Nebraska, where TAGS warms our hearts every night on
TVLand (finally we got it as a New Year's present!)...

I love TAGS and the fact that I can watch it with my four-year-old daughter
and never have to worry about what kind of language or subject matter she'll
hear...it's a great show with good family values...also love the bible study
materials and have used them in our small group from church.

With that background, I've got a weird trivia question to ask...How many
times is the word "sex" spoken in TAGS episodes?

To the best of my knowledge, it is never used in an inappropriate way (i.e.,
something I'd be embarrassed for my daughter to hear)...see if you can
remember any...there's a date to the church social waiting for you with
Andy, Ellie, Opie, Mary Wiggins [choose the appropriate partner].

Greetings all:

I want tapes. More tapes. I have lots of them, of course. I've got the
entire Columbia House set and others I bought through The Bullet. But my 6
year old is interested in the show now, but he is not old enough yet to
appreciate the joy of seeing the same episodes over and over again.

I don't get TV Land at home. And Columbia House isn't going to expand its
offering beyond the 10 tapes now available.

So what's a guy to do? Send help. Better yet, if anybody out there can lend
a hand, I'd be forever appreciative. And, of course, I'll pay
shipping/handling or anything else.

Thanks again.

Steve Kraske
