Ever notice other shows set in fictional towns, but never a mention of a
state? Like Mayfield on Leave it to Beaver and Hilldale (or something like
that) on the Donna Reed Show.

Another was the Douglas' first home on My Three Sons--Bryant Park. I'm
happy to report now that we know that Bryant Park is in North Carolina!
I've seen two My Three Sons' episodes recently showing the Taylor's house.
First, Steve was driving down the street, and in the second, Ernie was
skateboarding in front of Andy's house. In both scenes, it was evident that
the street was not paved, and other street scenes from My Three Sons used
paved street scenes, so a little inconsistency there...also a church scene
in one episode that looked like Mayberry's All Souls Church, but I couldn't
swear on it.

Nice to see TAGS pop up in unexpected places...just wonder how Opie would
have gotten along with Chip and Ernie as neighbors? Maybe Uncle Charlie and
Aunt Bee would have had a blossoming romance? Steve might have been perfect
for Nurse Peggy after it didn't work out between her and Andy...imagine the
possibilities!

Andy: I suppose you heard the one about the fella that put the cleaning
fluid right in with the gravy...that way if he got a spot on his tie, it
cleaned itself!

Mr. Goss: That's mighty dangerous mixin' them chemicals.

Wow, what a way to spend a week-end home sick in bed...watching TAGS-A-THON!!!

I noticed lots of spots that were cut out, too, but appreciated, and loved
the way things were re-inserted like they had originally been filmed/written.
For instance, the "giraffe's are selfish" was cut out, but at the first of
that (?) episode we got to hear about how Aunt Bee did all the cooking for the
prisoners and that the cost for all the food, etc. came out of Andy's own
pocket.
Never, ever have I or hubby heard THAT piece of dialog. There were MANY other
things we heard for the first time and enjoyed every bit of it, because we
already
had the parts that were cut out memorized any way!! What a wonderful A-thon,
getting to hear those "LOST-MISSING-EDITED-DIALOGUES" once again.

I'm enough of a rebel to be incensed by laugh tracks. I don't need nobody
nohow nudging me to laugh when I don't wanna. I know when something's funny
for heaven's sake - I wasn't born yesterday. Are there any more rebels out
there ?

Here's a few more I thought of:

Emma Watson - jaywalking
Theft - stealing hams, 1/2 turkey, an apple pie, etc.
The man stealing Wally's tools (hiding in the trunk of the car)
An illegal u-turn whilst there weren't no emergency bringing about a
"Citizen's Arrest"

I think I posted this before when we talked about pets, but we got a kitten and
my husband named him Rambler. Then when he
started trying to walk and run on our hardwood floors, he fell and walked
crooked a lot. So I insisted on making his middle
name Otis, after TAGS Otis, of course. Now, that's all we call him - except
for when he does mean things, and I won't tell
what I call him then! Makes me wish I'd named our other cats after TAGS
characters!

Hello everyone! My happy thoughts have been with all of you who were lucky
enough to have TV Land and watch the marathon. Also, I'd like to say how nice
it is that one of the chapters is offering the loan of their tapes to those
who couldn't watch. I am one of those unlucky ones and since I don't know how
to copy tapes, I'm still out of luck. Oh well, some folks got it and some
ain't.
Anyway, I noticed something in the episode that was on our local station
tonight and just had to mention it to y'all. It was the one where Malcolm
Merriweather is in town and Andy has him come in to help around the 'ouse so
Aunt Bee can take a well-deserved rest. In one scene, she and Andy are
looking for Opie cause it's time for him to get ready for a birthday party.
And Aunt Bee says something like "I bet he's still running around in his
overalls." My question is, did Opie EVER run around in overalls? If he did, I
missed it! Anyone know about this?

Hey Folks,

We're still working on adding POC's to the chapter listing database found on
the TAGSRWC web site.

http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/anewsome/private/chapters.htm

We have 26 POCs listed right now and we need to get more so if you are the
leader of a chapter OR if you are willing to be a POC for your local chapter,
please email me and let me know that you'd like to have your email address
listed in the database.

I get requests almost everyday from folks trying to find out how to contact
their local chapter and if we can get this database populated with POCs I
think it'll be a big service to visitors to the site.

Hey, we can't forget jaywalking (seemed to be Barney's favorite crime to nip)
and of course illegal u-turns (nipped with Gomer's citizen's arrest!).

Hey everyone!

Has there ever been talk about some type of national trivia competition?
Maybe local chapters could set up their own contests, then we could have
state finals and eventually a national championship! Wouldnt that be a
blast! Any ideas?

Hope everyone enjoyed FANDIMONIUM.

The scene where Opie releases the baby birds, went on for some time without a
laugh track...as did the prelude, in which Opie is told by Andy it's that
time...For my money, the best dramatic scene ever in the series...

Howdy folks,
I had a nice experience this morning. I took my truck to the shop to have a
slow-leaking tire fixed and much to my amazement, the fella at the counter
told me there was no charge for fixin flats or rotatin tires. I had to do a
double-take and bite my tongue to keep from blurting out, "Why thankya Gom!"
He said it was the store manager's policy at this particular Firestone shop.
I wonder if his name was Wally. You don't get too much free service these
days so this felt good, extra good. I shoulda asked him if he charges for oil
changes by the "ding".

In response to the message posted on crime in Mayberry - I believe there was
an almost crime. It was the one in which Barney was being sued for breach of
promise, though Andy didn't press charges. I think it's called extortion, no?
I think there was another 'crime' Andy let pass - the 'man in a hurry' stole
Wally's truck. Can anybody think of other pardon's?
A couple of thoughts in passing - has anyone ever noticed Andy or Barney using
the bottom two drawers in the filing cabinet? They always seem to get
everything from the top draw. I wonder what's in the other two, it can't be
crime files.
And has anyone noticed how everyone takes their coffee black? I think aunt Bee
asked Malcolm for one sugar once. This seems to hold true on all shows.
I'm having a bad time here - my t.v's been broken for 2 weeks, I'm so homesick
for Mayberry. But our group here has eased some of the misery.

Thanks for all of you sharing the epilogues of the
shows. I guess I saw them the first time they
originally aired, but that was many moons ago. I
don't have cable, so sad to say I was unable to watch.
My brother did call me from out of town, and let me
listen to some of them over the phone, but of course
that isn't as good as watching.

...she's nice....real nice......
