That would've been excellent...unfortunately, Conway was about to start the
last season of "McHale's Navy" when Barney left...

Been reading the digest regularly but ain't posted lately.
Anyone wonder why Andy didn't get suspicious earlier in "Convicts at Large"
when Floyd and the gal came into town. THats so unlike Floyd and Barney.
Also, how was O'malley planning on getting back to his cabin from Mayberry
when he arrived back in town if Andy not offered him a ride? One more thing.
With the small amount of crime in Mayberry, why would Andy just happen to
have 3 sets of handcuffs when they captured the girls?

These episodes are also available on DVD as well now at a reasonable price.

Nice try, but that didn't happen in "Aunt Bee the Warden." There were three
very early episodes in which the squad car bore the license plate DC-269.

I do remember the other drug stores now that ya'll
mentioned them, Maybe after Miss Ellie left town they
sold Walkers Drug to the Masons, or maybe Mrs Mason
worked for the Franklyns (thanks Paul I wasn't wearing
my specks, thats why them F's looked liked R's). And a
big thanks to the person who sent the link to those
Cottage & Co. comics, I have not laughed that hard in
a long time!

Hey everybody! I was just wonderin' if anybody caught
the Hogan's Heroes episode on today that had Otis on
it. He was playing the part of a German factory owner.
Sure sounded funny hearing Otis talk with a German
accent!

I was on my way into work the other day (a littlte rushed actually) when I
spied a pick up with a sticker that read "opie" in the back window; I
thought this neat, but gave no further thought to it ( It was actually an
omen!). Well, about 40 miles up the road this big old flat bed truck
pulled out in front of me. Just as I was about to heap a bushel of
unpleasentries on the driver as I pulled around him I read the stencilling
on the door, which read "Andy Griffin Cnstruction." The similiarity of the
name brought me instantly back to Mayberry, and of course I spent the rest
of the drive repenting for my loss of patience. I did, however, keep a more
Mayberry attitude that day.

Did anyone see Andy's cousin Gloria on "Charlie's Angels" Tuesday night?
Her name is Jan Shutan and she played Andy's pretty "cousin" who visited
with the Taylors in episode #151 ("Guest in the House") and got Helen all
jealous. She played the killer on that "Charlie's Angels" episode. She
sure did change from playing "you're the boss, I'm the secretary" to
scissors and chloroform.

Subject: Another slap

I just remembered a time that Thelma Lou slapped Barney in the back seat of
the squad car. It was when he picked an inappropriate time to say "Hey
Thelma Lou, let's have a little fun". He spent the rest of the evening
trying to stop a nose bleed. A word to the wise....

Howdy all,
I was just wondering, how come is it that the squad car never seems to have a
glossy reflection. It always seems to be dull or dust-covered. Was it a
production trick used to keep from getting the camera and crew relected in
the paint job? I recall in "Barney's First Car" that Mrs. Lesch's husband's
"machine" was very nicely polished. Was it only the squad car that had this
appearance?

...Haven't seen anyone mention this but our very own TAGS alumnus Gomer will
be
the Fandemonium star on TVLand next weekend. And yes, they will be showing
the shows with Andy, Opie, Aunt Bee and Goober. I think the Goober and Aunt
Bea episodes are even going to be shown twice.

Thanks for the info above, but I'm not quite the Gomer fan like I am the TAGS
fan. Sooo, could somone tell me all the episodes in which our beloved TAGS
folks are found. I enjoy Gomer Pyle, USMC but would especially like to see
these. Thanks in advance for the info and "Happy motoring..."

Thanks for the info on JVD turning down the Barney replacement role, (I have a
feeling it would not have worked, much like the Waren failure.)

A few weeks back everyone was talking about the most sentimental or "teary eye"
moment on Andy. Mine would have to be (and this coming from a guy who has
little use for 99% of the color episodes) the episode where Opie gets a job,
and has to loose it so the other kid can help pay the bills. "Your a man." I
loose it everytime at that part, so does my wife.

hey to all! joy joy joy! my cable carrier finally got tv land! our cable
company is always about 2 years behind the times and i was almost to the
point of switching companies but lo and behold the other night i turned on
the t.v. and there it was. now i get to see more tags as well as gomer
pyle, hogan's heroes,adam-12 etc. i spotted just today an episode of hogan's
heroes which was written by tags writers harvey bullock and ray allan
saffian and also guest starred parley baer (mayor stoner) as a german
medical officer. i also saw an episode of the dick van dyke show that was
also written by harvey bullock and ray allan saffian. i'm starting to pay
more attention to writers of t.v. shows now than i used to because i'm
starting to realize how much difference the writing can make. for instance
i've noticed on the gomer pyle u.s.m.c. episodes that i've seen in just the
last few days i enjoyed the episodes written by tags writers bill idelson
and sam bobrick the best. it is apparent that the andy griffith show was
blessed through the years of it's run with some of the best television
writing talent in the industry. add in the unbeleivable talent in the cast
and they couldn't go wrong! tim hutcherson "the mayberry undercover agents"
