There's the guitar in numerous episodes, the tuba in "The Mayberry Band" and "Sermon for Today" (sorry, no French horn in any episode), the organ in "Church Organ" (as mentioned yesterday) and the piano in "Barney's Physical." There's one other episode in which he plays the piano, and there's still one more instrument that no one has gotten yet. - --Paul ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 07 Apr 2001 20:35:45 -0500 From: Paul Mulik <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Andy's instruments >>>Hhhhmmmm... regarding the different instruments that Andy plays on the show, I know I'm not as educated as many of you, but as I recall he plays (well, the guitar of course on many episodes), the tuba on "The Mayberry Band", he plunks a few notes on the piano on "Barneys Physical" and I think he plays a horn (I want to say French Horn, but I'm not sure) on "The Sermon for Today". ...are there more?? >>> We're getting close here. Reckon he ever put waxed paper on a comb and played that? Perhaps he tried to get some sounds out of Brisco's jug in between Barney taking a pull off the squeezins. Borrowed Barney's French harp? Hmmmm, Good question. Jeff Krentz BigHead in Dee-Troit (O'Malley says "Now you're Gumpin' It!) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Apr 2001 23:02:06 -0400 From: "Randy Everette" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Man In A Hurry on Gomer Pyle USMC I just noticed for the first time, as best as I can recall at least;), that the actor who played the part of the Man In a Hurry also played a role on Gomer Pyle, USMC. In that show he was visiting hot shot from Washington, DC and Gomer was guarding the back gate and was told by Sgt Carter not to let in anyone unless they had a Marine ID card. Well, this hot shot decides to come by the back gate and tried to bully his way past Gomer and enter the base. Gomer arrests him and puts him in the brig, which is just what Sgt Carter told him to do. Gomer and Carter figure they're in big trouble, and the hot shot tries to get Gomer in a lot of trouble. But, the LtCol, the battalion commander, says Gomer did his job correctly and professionally and basically sends the hot shot packing back to Washington.
