They didn't say, but one of the owners of Melody Ranch did tell me that when
it's added to the museum. I'll be sure to let everyone know.

News flash:

"Inspired by rumors that Michael Jordan is returning to basketball, Muhammad
Ali has decided to return to the boxing ring. This time, he's going to
float like a butterball and scorn like Aunt Bee."

Barney's cymbls together.

Well, Andy did snatch them out of Barney's hands before boarding the bus,
but he didn't play them (the cymbals may have lightly touched each other,
but if so, this is not the same as playing them). I have a different
percussion instrument in mind. Think "foreign."

And sorry Bob, but Andy's horn is definitely a tuba, not a baritone horn.
Take a look at the episode "The Mayberry Band" and you'll see that the
baritone horn player's instrument is much smaller than Andy's. For them
that don't know, the baritone horn looks like a small tuba. The one in the
Mayberry band has a curved bell. When played, the bell is in front of the
player's left shoulder. During rehearsal, Mayberry's baritone player sits
in the front row, between the piccolo and the clarinets. When the band is
marching, he is in the middle of the second row.

BTW, the true baritone horn is used almost exclusively by British brass
bands. It has a straight upright bell, with three upright valves, on top of
the rest of the tubing. American bands (including Mayberry's) use
euphoniums, which most people call baritone horns, even though they're not
the same. Good euphoniums always have four valves; lesser-quality
instruments have only three.

Did Andy ever play the spoons?

Could the one left out according to Paul be the clarinet, as he is telling
Lester to kinda "andygump" his chin a little. It appears maybe he knows how
to play it, though I've never seen or heard him do so, but it is kind of
implied.

Hey Everybody,

I just thought that I would visit Mayberry and let you know about the
people who left Mayberry. It seeems that all of Andy's ex-girlfriends
left town and so did Barney and not long after that Thelma Lou left also.
Also, Warren left town because in later episodes he was not on the show.
Howard left for the Carribean, but later came back and Gomer left for the
Marines. Jim Lindsey left to join the Eddie Fleet's Band with the Beat. I
believe there are probably others, so if ya'll Mayberrians can think of
more just let us all know.

More Power To Ya!

Subject: squad car needed

I am writing for Steve Plemmons, an Associate Minister for the East Ridge
Church of Christ in Chattanooga. For the past two years they have held a
"Mayberry Fellowship Day" for the members of their congregation. They
have members that are assigned to portray characters from TAGS, and he
also takes one of their classrooms and duplicates the
courthouse. As an avid fan of the show, Steve strives for authenticity,
and he does sweat the details.

Their 3rd Annual Mayberry Fellowship Day is set for next Saturday, April
21 at their facility. Steve tried and failed last year to get a squad car
replica for the day, but is hoping to get one here for this year.

If anyone out there who owns a replica squad car can help, it will
certainly add a lot to their Mayberry Day. Please contact Steve directly
if you can be of assistance. His email is: "SPluvsTAGS2aol.com" -- Home
or "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" -- Work.

Thanks,

Subject: The Bullet

I received the final issue of "The Bullet" in the mail this weekend and want
to thank Jim Clark for all the effort he put into each issue for the past 19
years. I have only had a subscription for half of that time, but each issue
I have is a treasured piece of Mayberry history.

As members of WBMUTBB, I would encourage you to get your copy of the final
issue through www.tagsrwc.com. There are lots of color photos, cast
updates, new items at Weaver's, chapter updates, and a great look back at
the original Volume 1, Issue 1 of The Bullet. Order yours before they are
swept into the dustbin of history.

Jim Clark has done so much to bring the Mayberry spirit to so many people,
literally all over the world, by keeping TAGS fans informed through The
Bullet. We are all fortunate that he has, and will continue to share his
writing talents with us fans. I look forward to future emailings of the
eBullet and appreciate Allan for his help with that. There are lots of
people who do things to promote TAGS, but Jim is by far, the finest example
of what the Mayberry spirit is truly about, and we are honored to have him
as a friend.

Jeff
