In answer to Dixon's question about the air date for "A Date for Gomer,"
sure enough! My Spignesi's guidebook shows the air date as Nov. 25,
1963--the Monday after the Kennedy assassination. Kinda makes ya thank,
don't it....

I was only three at that time, but I can easily imagine a lot of TAGS fans
getting a much-needed dose of therapetic good humor from that particular
episode on that particular Monday.
- ------------------------------

And now for the answer to Paul's Same Name Game Part 2--and for this one I
didn't even have to hold no book--Gomer Pyle was named after the late Denver
Pyle, who played Briscoe Darling.

I just want everyone to know on here that I really look forward to reading the
digest every day. I have had a brain tumor removed and going through a really
rough time, but the digest gives me a bright spot in my day. Those that pray
please remember me in your prayers. Let me say that I definitely applaud this
sight for a taste of the good old days!! I also watch my tapes of Andy when I
am down to cheer myself up. Feel free to e-mail me if anyone has ever been
through this as to it might help me realize I am not alone!!!

I am not sure I know exactly what you are looking for, but could it be that
Frank Myers who is a production manager or something of the like a name that
is used on the show. I may be barking up the wrong tree, but it sure won't
be the first time or last. Jimbo "Dr. Pendyke "Seay

My family & I took a trip to Mt. Airy about 2 weeks ago, and had so much
fun. We stayed at the Andy Griffith Boyhood Home and it was so neat, we
had stayed there last year & it is always so special. Mt. Airy & its
people are just so neat & it really feels like home. Also, I got my
copy of The Final Bullet yesterday, and it is so good. I would
encourage each chapter leader to order a copy and have it for your
club's history, you'll be glad you did! Lotsa Luck to You &
Yours.......Dave & Pattie & A Dollar and a Quarter Club, New Phila,

They had the same last name all right, but that was just a coincidence.
Andy Taylor was named after Andy Griffith's real-life grandmother, whose
last name was Taylor.

Still, your answer does meet the terms of my original question, so you are
correct.

>>>As Andy, Barney, Mayor Stoner, and the investigator were examining the
footprints, Andy asked a very logical
question: "Where are the prints made by the cow?" They didn't seem to be
concerned at all, but this would have been enough evidence to convince me on
Andy's theory. lotsa luck to you and yours,

I always found it strange that each of the six feet involved left exactly
one print. I don't want to make a big melange out of it, but it seems to me
that if a man and a cow walked across that muddy area, there would have been
LOTS of footprints.

Paul, as to someone portraying themself, are you speaking of Andy's
father Carl when he appeared in that one episode coming out of the
menswear store? I believe it was when Ange was spiffin' up Jeff Pruitt.
Or was the governor really his honor?
Meanwhile, I made the chicken marsala recipe that was in this last Bullet
(which was fabulous as usual) and it was gooooooood!

I saw the episode where Aunt Bee opened her Canton Palace and
noticed something I'd not seen before. Before the restaurant
changed, the menu that was posted on the wall mentioned Beer for
$.25. Perhaps Charlie's place was outside Mayberry county or,
more likely, (since this is a color episode) they changed the law.

Anyway.....

Don G
(hmmmmm, $.25 is a pretty good deal! - uh, never mind)

This is to Carol in Atlanta. You're absolutly right about TV Land showing the
uncut episode. In "Brisco declares for Aunt Bee" Brisco Darlin kidnaps Aunt
Bee and takes her back up to his cabin. I've seen this one a hundred times
,but not until recently did i see the last scene on TV Land. Aunt Bee is
sitting in the patrol car, kisses Brisco, and thanks him for wanting her.

<BTW...saw Denver Pyle and Gomer Pyle together yesterday on Gomer
Pyle USMC. Denver played a tomato farmer...a character that seemed
to me to be somewhat of a cross between Briscoe Darling and Jesse
Duke.>

Denver's wife was played by the lady who played Jenny (as in Fred
and Jenny) in Andy the Marriage Counselor.
